Wanted to take a crack at the new Command Protocols formation. The formation allows you to choose one special rule at the beginning of every turn and give that to all non-vehicle units in the formation (Crusader, CA, Fearless, MH). Pretty nifty, however it's base price starts off at a relative steep and restrictive with:

1 Necron Overlord
1 Unit of Immortals
2 Units of Warriors
1 GA
1 DS
1 Unit of TPs
1 TS
1 Unit of DMs
2 Units of Wraiths

So 1120 Points before anything has been added.

For some reason this formation just screams Zandy (which I think is legal?) However, just sticking with a basic Olord for now...

Thought about adding it with this CAD

1 Dlord (RO/MSS/SW)

5 x Warriors
5 x Warriors

1 x Wraith
1 x Wraith
1 x Wraith

and bring the TPs up to a full 10 to run with the Dlord. That leaves me at 1745. Enough room to play around with some gear / RC members / HS slots.

The Formation is indeed around that amount of points.
But that leaves you with 2x 1 Wraith; 2x 5 Warriors and 1x 5 Immortals.

I would first focus on fleshing out the Formation and then perhaps add some units through Unbound.
You could take a single Destroyer Lord and attach them to Wraiths from the Formation.

So:
-More Wraiths, Warriors and Immortals in the squad.
-Give the Deathmarks a Transport.
-Add some items to the Overlord, perhaps make him an indestructible CCB-rider by using some of the new Relics.

Right, definitely. My initial offering was to keep the MSU aspects of the formation as much as possible and kind of capitalize on them. 5 separate solo Wraiths being a key part of that. Those units in particular would be frustrating to take down effectively.

This all rolling around the TP/Dlord centerpiece.
