Red Waargh formation - "Mogrok's Bossboys"

3 Big Meks
1 Warboss
1 Weirdboy

One big mek must be warlord, with Kunnin' but Brutal trait.
You get to give D3 units outflank and acute senses.


So yeh, its a nice clump of HQ's, all without using up slots, and Orks can make use of a few more HQ's. However, if you are adding things like KFF's or SAGs to the meks, warbikes, megaarmour to the warboss... They quickly add up to about 100 points each. Its probably 450 for the entire formation. Add in a painboy for your mandatory HQ choice and its 500.

In 2000 point games (or more, i guess) I can see this being a brilliant formation to use. But I usually play 1500 point games, and I'm struggling to squeeze them in.

But the only alternative to get enough HQ's in is to take multiple cads, and that means lots of extra troops choices. Fine if running a green tide style list, but not for a mek list (which with 3 big meks... you're going to be running a mek list).

Anyone out there use this formation? Any thoughts?

the D3 outflanking units just seems like a lot of fun. Outflanking MANz squad? Or maybe a morkanaut?

Then try to deepstrike stormboyz next to him, because fearless.

I dont actually plan to run any gorka or morkas, I dont rate them all that highly... I do plan to run a mega-dread from the FW list though, as they seem a bit more fun and killy.

Stompas are hella expensive, would be half my points cost lol.

But I could outflank a big MANz squad, which could be pretty nasty. In a battlewagon even, I think... if its a dedicated transport.

Or outflank a squadron of 3 deff dreads with double flamers. (Only if its a FW dread mob where I can have deff squadrons)

I've played it before in an 1850 point game, and I loved it. I gave each mek a KFF, and then I got painboys in my CAD. I then had 2 ultra Killy squads of boyz running around with 5++ and FNP. Very effective. The one thing to avoid is barrage, as it is a real bummer to have your KFF mek sniped by a plane bomb. I tried outflanking a double flamer dread, but even with acute senses it failed to come on the right side. I would definitely recommend getting Da Finkin Kap for Mogrok (Warlord Big Mek) because it makes him even more kunnin!

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

I'd probably outflank 6 kanz with grotzookas. It's gona be hilarious and actually one of a few more or less effective ways of running kanz.

Or go balls out insane and outflank a freaking greentide.

lol im avoiding (at the moment) a horde list, but an outflanking greentide would be hilarious.

outflanking 6 kanz would be funny too, though I think outflanking 10manz in a battlewagon would be a nastier appearence.

edit: 10 manz with combi- rokkit or skorchas. nasty alpha strike.
