Hey all, trying to build a Dread Mob list and would like your input!
Formation: Dread Mob (in Waaagh! Ghazkhull supplement)
1x Big Mekk w/Da Supa Cybork, Shokk Attack Gun - 135pts
1x Painboy - 50pts
3x Deff Dread w/Extra power klaw, skorcha - 285 total
3x Killa Kan squads (3 each) w/ Grotzookas - 495 total
2x Gorkanauts w/ Grot Riggers - 530 total
Total 1495
Ok, so let me start off by saying I'm not aiming to be a huge competitive threat. I'm just looking for a kan centered list that is semi-functional.
I would like to keep the Big Mek as is, but I'm unsure as to the best loadouts for Killa Kans and Deff Dreads are. I put Grotzookas, Skorchas and Power Klaws as I figured they would be penalized least by Orks poor BS, but I would love input if there are better loadouts.
I also have no really played Orks much since their new codex, so I'm unfamiliar with which build of Gork/Morkanaut is best. I was thinking about taking a Morkanaut with the Kustom Force Field, but I'm a sucker for gatling guns. Would love some input from the interweb though.
Lastly I'm undecided what to do with the final points. I considered adding some Meks guns or a Weirdboy, but would love to hear some advice on the best ways to do this, or other unit choices altogether.
Thanks all, and Happy Holidays!

I would change out the killakans weapons to rokkit launchas. But it really depends on what army you're facing because grotzookas are really good against infantry while rokkits are good all around. Also while deff dreads arn't shooting powerhouses the extra power klaw is two expensive for what it does.

If you don't enjoy playing against people with unpainted armies, break into their house when they sleep, paint their figures for them, help yourself to their cheerios and then your problems will be solved.
Well, my opponents usually don't have more than 1-2 Wave Serpents 'cos Serpent spam is very expensive in real life money.

Thanks for the tips! Would you suggest double skorchas on the deff dreads? Or more rokkit launchers? Maybe a kustom mega blasta?

It all depends on the opponent because if you have double skorchas facing a mech guard list it's different then if you we're facing a nid swarm.

Awesome, thanks again does anyone have advise on gorkanauts vs morkanauts? Or what might be a good use of those extra 350 points?

Can I ask why gorkas over morkas? With morkas you can take a kustom force field each giving a 7" 5+ invulnerable and then give the big mek a big and mega kustom force field for a 4+ bubble so he can ride around. Take away the extra power klaw on the dreads keep them either rokkits or shootas. Then I agree the grotzooka depends on who you're against.

I disagree on the Deff Dread load outs. The extra claws are only 10 points, and you do NOT want to waste them on shooting. They need to be running each and every turn until they can charge in. If you REALLY want to save 5 fricken points, give them another Skorcha as anti charge protection or to use as precharge softener on infantry units. (Though these guys really don't want to get tar pitted, so thats why you give them 3 Klaws for extra attacks)
For the Naughts, you could run them both as Morkanaughts to spam some KFF all over your field which is always helpful. If you make one of them a Gorkanaught, then keep it close to the Morkanaught so it gets that save and pepper their infantry with the 3D6 gattling gun.
Kanz loadout, I tend to take Rokkits, but I face a lot of Marines, so having that Ap3 is nice. Though Grotzookas can be really excellent for getting a lot of hits and hoping to have them fail enough saves. I just dislike it's 18'' range (Not that 24"" is TOO much better).
Just to repeat, I highly recommend taking at least one Morkanaught to keep your frail walkers alive, or at least give them a shot at survival.
You could also field some Boyz to either lead the charge, or follow the Walkers in Trukks or Battle Wagons. (Trukks to keep it cheap and to move faster, or foot slog). You could also use Lobbas or Kannons to give some backfield support as they are dirt cheap at only 18pts a piece.

Kanz: If you are not only facing marines, take grotzookas. Possibly one unit with rokkits.
Deff: It wants melee, so I run mine with only pk's.
Naut: kff dramatically increases the survivability of your army, ergo use morkas.
At least that's how I do it.

Been thinking if I want to grab the last few models to run this but I believe the best load out is:
1 mork + KFF + riggers
1 gork + riggers
3 grootzooka
3 rokkits
3 of rokkits or grotz ( I pick grotz)
3 dreads with Pk+skortcha and riggers
I've been trying to figure out what exactly to do with the mek and pain boss. The list really wants to get a war boss to make use of Waaagh. My thought was then to add in a hq boss (or Grukk) and 30 boyz. I can also then add in my mega dread.
This does come to 2k though.
