Hello everyone, I have a slight dilemma I recently purchased a bunch of the new blood Angels models and the new Mephiston red spray of which I have now run out of half way through my army. Since this was another short term release its pretty much impossible to find it in stores or online etc. And using the Mephiston base paint doesn't work well as the colour match is horrible so I was wandering if there was another spray like army painter dragon red or something else that is a close match to mephiston red spray? Any help would be much appreciated.

Mephiston Red Spray has been around a while before the Blood Angel release, you should be able to get it still.

If not, Dragon red from The Army Painter is a good match.

Unfortunately in Australia it was a limited release both times and web store exclusive. It's no longer available on the web store and very few stores stocked it, even my local GW did not stock it. I will have to look into the army painter though

You guessed right with Dragon Red spray from Army Painter. Try ebay or amazon, that's where I get my Army Painter spray from and it's usually a good deal cheaper than wargaming/hobby sites.

In the UK Mephiston red recently came back into stock. I suppose the same might be happening to oz?

Stock up while you can!!

I recently bought a can each of Mephiston and Dragon Red while experimenting for a Khorne colour scheme. The Dragon Red is a good match but not exact; I'd say it was very slightly brighter than the Mephiston. Once you've applied washes etc there's not much difference though. If you can't get any more Mephiston the Dragon Red is probably your best bet.

Thanks for the replies. There are a few online Aus hobby stores that stock army painter so I'll probably just switch over to those of the difference is negligible after shading and highlighting.
