I have and always will love the MKIV Maximus! Seems more balanced to me, and love the look.

Just for fun, What is your favorite and why?

This isn't about the best, but favored, for the fluff of it all.

Got a little of everything except Mk I, and by far I prefer the Mk III. Just looks the most like armor to me; Mk I & II look too archaic, and later Mks have too much of a 'Frankenstein's monster' look to me.

Ha, didn't expect any for the MKI-II, actually surprised that MKIII is getting this amount of attention, pretty much thought MKVIII was going to take the cake. I always thought MKIII was bulky looking, and the helmet to be too train looking (Cow-catcher is how I know the front of a train :/ ), as well as the exposes cables and such.. But I've always thought the armor looked spiffy for some of the legions.

Just glad there is some feedback to these choices!

The Errant armor is awesome. That Collar just makes it that much better.

Haha, yeah with the Errant armor, worrying about catching one in the neck is pretty much done with.

I don't know if I have one favorite one, they all have neat aesthetics and I like different parts about each of them. I voted for Heresy, Corvus and Errant. I like the studs from Heresy, the beaks and pointed knees from Corvus, and the gorget and general smoothness from the Errant armor.

Really tough between II, III, and IV... Basically the FW armours haha. Can't stand VII armour for the most part.

Yeah I'm not sure what's up with MK VII. Don't really understand why they strayed from the studs on the pauldrons and such... IIRC the studs were designed to help protect against the Space Marines penetrating/detonating bolter rounds... and seeing on how they still take fire from 'em! Might wanna bring 'em back, eh?

Oh, wow....two for the MK VII!!!! but no explanation...hopefully us naysayers didn't change their minds on the feedback.

VII and VII are the only ones that appear fully functional.

The others have too many exposed cables, or overlapping plates that would restrict movement, or just plain look like they would have been invented by a civilization that didn't actually have the technology to produce powered armor.

Aaah, you did mean VII and VIII right, sgt? But didn't the MKIV have better sensors? IIRC a lot of tech was lost during the heresy, been awhile since I've read any of the books (starting to re-read the HH)

I think I remember reading too that the VII was the new standard codex because the mark of aquilla had to be visible (or atleast apart of set) or something like that, I believe that piece of info was Lexicanum...but can't be for certain.

MkIII for me. Very easy to add gold trim to the plates to make it look all pretty for my Pre-Heresy Emperor's Children.

MkIV mostly because of the helmet.

If possible though, I'd probably toss the MkIV helmet on MkVIII body just for that sexy gorget.

@KingPariah

That wouldn't be a bad choice, as one of the best things about the MKIV were the sensors, they're said to be a lot more sophisticated than what is used in the later MK suits. (So I've read, may not have been sensors in the helm, but possibly some sort of muscle sensors for a faster reaction?) I'm sure I'll be corrected on that (Which is welcomed!)

And aesthetically I think it's much better looking haha.

I did meen VII and VII, oops.

Actually, everything about the VII was designed as an upgrade over IV. The fluff about IV that gets people confused is the wording that it was designed to be the ultimate and final version of the armor. But when they got it into production it proved to be too fragile and hard to replace parts for. VI and VII was designed to have better system redundancy and easier maintenance.

Basically VII is Mk IV 2.0. In fact, the fluff spoke of the helmet being an "improved" version of the Mk IV helmet, the legs having better articulation, and the chest plastron offering improved protection for both the wearer and the suit's systems.

Mk VII was also produced right at the end of the Heresy. The technological recession wasn't immediate. People forget there have been 10,000 years since the Heresy, and things have continued to get worse. It wasn't like they forgot how to do everything 10 days after the Heresy, lol.

I do like this MkIV helmet:

The others look like ducks to me, lol.

Ooooh, thanks Sergeant! I think I got my facts A** Backwards there haha. And I do remember hearing that part replacement for the MKIV was window-licking hard to get. As for being fragile I did not know that! But I guess after replacing the MKII and III it would probably be looked on as fragile, as (again could be wrong) the MKIII was pretty tough and heavy (aside from cables hanging around)

As for the Corvus, I just don't think I like it, due to the first time being fielded by the Raven Guard, and them being massacred in a sea of betrayel. Just saddens me. Haha

This is true...the MKVII is probably the most iconic to me as well... Then again, I also picture the MKIII from the artwork from one of the HH novels when the imperial fist storm IIRC an iron hands cruiser. I believe they're wearing the MKIII. Love that illustration.

Yeah, MKIII was used for boarding actions, so thats probably what it is. But are you sure it's iron hands? That's two loyalist chapters that I don't recall fighting

Not iron hands -_- Iron Fist? wow I'm having a brain fart.

It was the legion that had always butted heads with the imperial fists...they shared the same specialty of siege warfare.

I remember reading about the fortress they had designed to ensnare and trap the IF in. To the point that the IF were fighting tooth n claw basically and came damn close to a loss for the IF.

I'm sure someone here will help me out...it's iron something, they have the yellow hazard stripes on the pauldron and leg.

List of different power armour with pictures

MKVI Corvus (Beaky) has always been my favourite. Don't care about the difference between marks for cables, studs or anything like that, but the Beak bit just has some kind of "classic" appeal.

If we could vote on Termy armour, I'd go with the original terminator librarian for the curve that goes from one shoulder. across the back and down to the other shoulder. The head itself is meh, but the over-all look is quite different to anything produced after it.
