So I've got a small tournament coming up, and rather than using my standard Khan bikers I'm thinking of switching up a tiny bit and being a bit of a douchebag with 3 chapter masters...
So I'll have 3 nutjob smashy bike chapter masters zooming around the board (or in the big unit of white scar bikers) basically smashing stuff up.
Also got some cheesey thunderfire stuff as well as sternguard/legion combo for backup plan.
Thoughts? Could be fun as well as decent

Combined arms detachment - Iron hands

Chapter Master (270pts) [Artificer Armor, Bike, Combi-grav, Digital Weapons, The Shield Eternal, Thunder Hammer]

Chapter Master (235pts) [Artificer Armor, Bike, Combi-grav, Digital Weapons, Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer]

Legion of the Damned Squad (170pts) [Bolt Pistol, Boltgun, Frag and Krak Grenades, 4x Legionnaire, Meltagun, Multi-Melta, Power Armour]
Legionnaire Sergeant [Combi-weapon, Power Axe]

Scout Squad (55pts) [Scout Sergeant, 4x Scouts]

Scout Squad (55pts) [Scout Sergeant, 4x Scouts]

Stormtalon Gunship (125pts) [Skyhammer Missile Launcher, Twin-Linked Assault Cannon]

Thunderfire Cannon (100pts)

Thunderfire Cannon (100pts)

Thunderfire Cannon (100pts)

Allied detachment - White scars

Wow, this is even cheesier than I thought it was going to be when I read the title...

Why sternguard in the WS detachment? As far as I can tell they gain no benefit, given that you're deploying them with a DP, whereas in the IH detachment they gain FnP.

Haha I'm so sorry.

I guess I weighed FnP vs. hit and run... you may be right that FnP is preferable

hit and run doesn't really do anything for Sternguard. You're expecting them to get shot at, but they're not made for taking hits in CC.

If you want a serious force dancing around with H&R, you should move one of your IH chapter masters over to the WS. But I suspect you want to be benefitting from IWND.

the list is illgeal. The first chapter master with shield eternal his Relic replaces a weapon thus combi weapon is not allowed if your also taking a thunderhammer

Ah yeah that's true. Thought it worked like a normal storm shield. Thanks for pointing that out.

FMCs will destroy this list. You should drop some TFCs perhaps for more AA (maybe dual stalkers or a Stormraven/Fire Raptor). You are also going to have to drop the first CMs combi because the shield eternal replaces a weapon. Also, you will lose to Objective Secured drop pods and target saturation. Also, a few Knights would give you trouble with the risk of instant removal from the strength D attacks... You may want to try a bike squad with melta and a MM Attack bike (although the LotD is nice).

If you want ultimate cheese, use the Clan Raukaan Supplement items and make
Chapter Master Smashfucker http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Chapter_Master_Smashfucker

Artificer Armour, the Gorgon's Chain, Thunder Hammer, Betrayer's Bane and Digital Weapons on a bike - 4 wounds, toughness 5, 2+ armour save, 3++ invulnerable save, 5+ Feel No Pain, 5+ It Will Not Die, Adamantium Will, and Eternal Warrior carrying a master crafted infinite-use Combi-Melta and a strength 8, AP2 concussive CCW that rerolls a failed assault wound.

Take Chapter Master Smashbane as well and have your allied detachment be Salamanders and take Master Harath Shen as HQ who gives 4+ FNP - which with the Gorgons Chain becomes 3+ for the whole unit.

Take all that and a couple of stormtalons as escort and wear a mouthguard as you'll probably get punched in the face because of the gak eating grin you will be sporting

As Timmy said. Go with Clan Raukaan.

I like your list. But at 1850 you need more anti air. I am sure you can find enough points for a couple of hunters, or another stormtalon.

Let the galaxy burn.

Alright thanks. So I'm thinking lose a thunderfire and skim off some points to fit in a second stormtalon and have 2 white scar biker squads.

Anti-air does not necessarily mean taking more flyers. FMCs can start on the board, and your flyers will start in reserve. I'd suggest a Hunter or Stalker for maximum cost effectiveness.

If the unit is in a drop pod that lands first turn, the stormtalon can come with it as it is escorting them from reserves as per it's rules.

Technically they can also escort the LoD, who get two rolls on their reserves so have a better chance of coming in, as they aren't independant characters

I thought the rule for escort excluded units deep striking?
