This is a 28mm Panther painted to represent one of 21st Panzer Divisions surviving tanks after the end of Operation Nordwind. The white winter camouflage has been dirtied and removed during combat operations.

The scheme is inspired by these 21st Panzer Panthers photographed near the Hagenau Forest in January 1945.

Rubicon 1/56th Panther Ausf. G... have to say, dont like working in 28mm, I find it really hard work and im a little dissapointed with the end result. Looking forward to some more civilised 20mm vehicles!

It was amusing to read that you weren't happy with how it turned out and then scroll down to see awesome pictures of the completely model.

People definitely have their preferred scale when it comes to model kits though. I know people who won't do anything but 1/35 or whatever.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I dunno, Big P - I think your style is actually better suited to 28mm. As this model demonstrates.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Thanks TG.

Just wasnt a fun job... maybe the kit annoyed me a little in the end, as I wanted more from it... I dunno. May just be a duslike of 28mm for WW2!

looks damn fine to me Big P,

maybe you were expecting too... much from a 'wargaming' model that thinks it's a historical model! lol

would you be able to do a full tutorial on your painting method? you are without doubt an excellent painter and we could all learn a thing or two.......maybe a simple Russian T34? from start to finish mentioning what techniques you use and products? .......if you have the time?............sorry if that's asking a lot..........!

cheers

Looks great to me, but as others have said, I do understand having a preference of scales.

That's a great looking Panther! I haven't seen this variation on the winter scheme before, but it definitely provides a great impression of a rushed field job. It may not be a museum-quality model, but your finish of it will blow most gaming minis out of the water (er...off the table?) in the looks department!
