Hey Dakka.
When using 30K, do you have to use one of the force charts from the HH books? (I can't remember what their proper name is)
And can I use a CAD?
Additionally; if I can use a CAD (or if we house rule it that way), can I use the Legion Tactics (again, names are fuzzy. I'm new to the 30K side of things) with it, or do I need to use the 30K FOC?
Cheers Dakka.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Its all badly worded but basically the way I play it is rites of war you can use this in unbound or apocalypse.
Similarly you can use and force organization chart be it in rule book or hh books.

The legions dont use a CAD. They have their own force org which is different.
Rites of war are designed to work with the legion force org. But if you are using house rules then why worry about what is permitted?
Forge world have stated before that the legions lists aren't intended to be used with unbound.

The latest FAQ actually addresses this. Sadly, we ignore 40k army creation rules and follow the 30k rules.

It's also mentioned in Book 4. And it is quite alright with me. It helps me find games with 40K opponents when I can point out that I have a very restrictive force organization compared to their ability to take CADs (with ObSec), detachments with other special rules, formations, etc. I find it best to let 40K players use all that rather than have them follow the same restrictions 30K has to follow, helps them to get over their initial trepidation about playing against 30K.

Could I possibly get a link to this, please?
The latest I could find was this, but I didn't see anything addressing the issue.
