I've almost got a new Necron 2,000 list to perfection and I'm thinking of using a Cryptek or two for the first time, however I'm not sure if my chosen Destroyer Lord will qualify for the Royal Court?

The Codex states "For every Necron Overlord, as well as named HQ's etc" ...is a Destroyer Lord and Overlord?

Thanks!

Destroyer Lord and Overlord are not the same IMO therefore, I'd say you can't have a Court to go with your Destroyer Lord.

Sadly, no. It also doesn't quality for the invulnerable save item.

Not sure why Destroyer Body isn't just wargear to be honest. +1 toughness and jump status is all there is to it.

As the others have mentioned unfortunately they are only lords not overlords :(

The psyche and attitude are completely different for destroyers over regular crons; it's not just a change in body type and weapon load out.

Which has zero rules bearing. Note that Necron Warriors have the lowest quality bodies and zero individuality, whilst Immortals retain their wartime skills... And their notably improved competence isn't reflected in their rules.

It would be nice to see this change in the new codex, either allowing units to take Lords or Cryptek as a "sergeant"-type upgrade. Royal Court is kind of a finnicky system. While it's cool and fluffy it just makes more hassle than it needs to be. We should be able to take HQ's we want and give our units bros to help them out.

It would be nice if the list of units courtiers could join wasn't restricted. Even nicer if they could take a bike or jump pack to keep up with the fast units.
