You roll two for ordnance/armorbane and if neither hut the vehicle then you reroll it with tank hunter

For ordnance, if you rolled a nothing and a glance could you just choose to re-roll the nothing?

No. In order to re-roll it you would need to re-roll all the dice.

armourbane lets you roll 2D6 added to the total str.
ordnance allows you to roll 2D6 adding the highest to your total str.

when you have tank hunters you are allowed to re-roll these results but you must abide by the final result.

I don't believe there is a 3D6 involved in this.

Ah so ord and armourbane would be 2 d6 take the highest rresult but added together?

Armourbane does not say to roll 2d6 for Armor penetration, it says to "roll an additional d6 for armor penetration" Similar to Melta. Ordinance says "Roll 2d6 and pick the highest" Tank hunters says to "reroll failed penetration rolls"

So, based on that these are possible 'Penetration Rolls':

Normal Penetration - 1d6+STR
Ordinance - 2d6 Pick Highest + STR
Melta - X+STR+1d6 if at Half Range (X is normally 1d6, but if it's Ordinance it will be 2d6 pick the highest)
Armourbane - X+1d6 + STR

Ordinance Melta - 2d6 (Pick Highest) + Str + 1d6 if at half-range or less
Ordinance Armor Bane - 2d6 (Pick Highest) + Str +1d6
Ordinance Melta Armor Bane - 2d6 (Pick Highest) + Str + 1d6 [Armor Bane] + 1d6 if at half-range or less

Tank hunters lets you reroll failed pen rolls. Which means you reroll everything to get that pen value.

You have a Melta Armourbane Ordinance Weapon in Melta Range. You roll 2d6 getting a "1" and a "2". You pick "2", You add 1d6 for armor bane...get another 1. Melta roll is also a 1. Your Strength is 5. 2+1+1+5 = 9. Blech can't do anything. So you invoke tank hunters and reroll your pen result

Now you get a "1" and a "6", Armor Bane is a 3, Melta roll is 2. 6+3+2+5 = 16. Now you can pen anything!

STOP READING HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT MORE MATH!

Ordinance Weapons have a 11/36 chance of getting a 6 on at least 1 die. (30% approx) Regular weapons you're looking at 1/6 (16%)
Armorbane and Melta each increase the pen roll of an average of 3.5. Sometimes though it's 1, other time's it's six.
