I'm wondering if anyone has tips for making tanks come out nice without using an airbrush. I'm going to be painting Imperial Fists scheme and I have a yellow spray/primer that I will be base coating it with.

Well, I am no expert on tanks, but I get decent results with a spray can base coat followed by a dry brush. I then paint the treads and stuff grey by hand, ink and dry brush them and do the other odds and ends by hand.

It helps my tanks are black.

I think that came out well!

Was there any highlighting or did you just dry brush the edges? I think it may be a bit more difficult for me since my base color will be yellow, if I don't add shadows it might look a little odd.

Just dry brushes. My army is white, but I made the tanks black for ease of painting. Yellow is hard, maybe an ink would help. I used a Sephia ink on some Imperial fist I did for a friend. That followed by a drybrush.

Rattlecan and drybrush will be adequate I believe..

Run a wash along the hard lines and in recesses as neatly as possible, this will make the base prime colour look solid then you can highlight all the top edges of the tank and weather/drybrush the lower half for looks. I do it for my own tanks although I do also run a darker line around the lower half of my own tanks with an ab. but it doesn't need to be done
