I just got back from my training camp in the army and planing to have a 40k game soon. This time I want to go for boyz and a mechanized assault.
The strategy is lining up the Battlewagons and getting the boyz and meganobs to the enemy as soon as possible. The Nob Bikers with the Painboy and the Big Mek hide behind them, give them 5++ and charge as soon as the other army makes it into assault.

HQ
Big Mek - warbike, bosspole, Da Finkin Cap, Power Klaw, KFF - 150 pts.

Painboy - Warbike - 75 pts.

Elites
3 Meganobz - 120 pts
Battlewagon - Reinforced Ram, Kanon, 4 Rokkits - 145 pts
5 Nob Bikers - 2 Power Klaws, 3 Big Chopas, Waaagh!!! Banner, Warbikes - 310 pts

Troops
19 Ard Boyz + Nob with PK and BP - 160 pts
19 Ard Boyz + Nob with PK and BP - 160 pts

Fast Attack
3 Deffkoptas with Rokkits - 90 pts

I'd get any points other than the Ram off the Wagon. If your goal is to blitz the enemy, you won't be shooting. Mostly wasted points.

Otherwise, looks fun. Who is the Painboy attaching to?

The Painboy goes with the Nob Bikers, cos I'm nostalgic about the old Biker-Nob Deathstar. But he can also join the other units as soon as they have disembarked. Depends on what they are facing.
As for the Battlewagons - paying 115 pts for a pure transport that can't even kill something is kind of strange, so the Rokkits and Kannons are there to give them some purpose after they have delivered their pasengers.

I'm pretty new to orks, however one thing I've learnt is that the nob bikers are mostly not worth it anymore. You can spend the same points on normal warbikes, end up with the same number of wounds, but twice as many dakkas.

I'd also agree, if the wagons are going flat out each turn they wont be shooting, so save your points there. Doubtful they'll survive long enough to deliver their boyz and still shoot anything.

So I'd suggest changing the 5 nob bikers for 10 warbikers, which I think is only 180pts... add a nob boss and an upgrade and its still only 200 points for 10 bikes (I'm not at home though so my point values may be wrong). The painboy and big mek with them will make them a nasty unit to try and kill.

Cheapen the battlewagons too. I know it feels wierd to spend 115 on a bare transport, but its the only high armour orks have. As you only have 3 vehicles, its unlikely they will all survive as any heavy weapons the enemy has will be targeted at them.

you could even drop the MANz battlewagon and put them in a trukk instead, saving yourself 100 points. Sure they would be weaker in armour, but the trukk would still have a 5++ save, and you could shield it with the boyz battlewagons to block line of sight.

With the 200+ points you've saved you could add another boyz squad in a trukk, or some mek gunz, or another mob of 10 bikers...
Or you could add two Big Trakks with supacannons and drop 60" range S8 pieplates on people.

Battlewagons won't usually all live to deliver their guys anyway, so adding points to them, and doing so knowing you'll be sacrificing a turn of shooting anyway to flat-out, just seems silly... but hey, whatever makes you happy! :-)

I would rephrase that a little bit.

A battlewagons SOLE purpose should be to deliver their boyz, so giving them all the extra guns and gubbins distracts from that purpose. I usually run mine with a Ram and 1 Big Shoota. Sometimes if I have the points I will go with the Grot Riggers.

Again, sole purpose = deliver the boyz.

If you want some big artillery weapons, get some Mek Gunz. Use the bits from the Kannon in the wagon kit and custom-make your own Mek Guns.

BTW... the above advice on Mek Guns is amazing, even if you have NO conversion skills.

I ended up making all five of my Mek Guns out of those guns an extra Trukk bits/wheels. Ended up costing me a literal fraction of GW's insane Mek Gun kits.

$50us for 18pts worth of model might be the WORST hobby deal in the entire game.

I think you mean 'Slugga Boyz' not 'Ard Boyz'. You ain't getting a 20 man squad of 10 pt models for 160 pts

Ok, so I'll just leave one big shoota on the BW, or a kanon if I have the points. The problem with normal wabikers is I don't have them, so I decided to put my old nob bikers into action. Other tan that I totaly agree.
And jeah, I wanted to tipe slugga boyz, my mistake
