How would you come up with a back story to play a Knight Styrix in a 40K game?
What grey knight units would you use to support it during your match?
Can I play a Fire Raptor in a Grey Knights list and if I cant, can I just ally space marines and take the bare minimum of two troops, a HQ aND a Fire Raptor as grey knight allies?

Knight Styrix isn't allowed in 40k. Its currently only a heresy unit.

Idk if you can take a Fire Raptor in a GK list but you can just ally it (though i think you need a technomancer or w/e as your HQ to do so)

There, you have your back story for fielding a knight styrix, You still have to find an opponent that will allow you to run a 30k unit

It's unlikely that a Knight would found in a archeotech vault, but might be guarding one (such as Gerantius) - and given the background for the Styrix the Grey Knights would probably be there trying to kill it!

The Fire Raptor isn't available to Grey Knights, and is a 'Relic of the Armoury' so you have to take a specific HQ in a non-Primary Detachment.

You CAN take a fire raptor without a Master of Relics, but to do so you have to have the raptor in the primary detachment.

Which means making Space Marines the primary and making GK the allies.

You could always take a nemesis strike force of grey knights and a CAD of SM with the fire raptor in it (and your warlord in the CAD). Alternatively you can also take DA, SW, or BA who also get access to it. The SW actually must take a rune priest as their keeper of the relics (if you want to take it in an allied detachment), which is a pretty good choice anyways.

The Styrix is a 30K only vehicle and will probably stay so. Volkite weapons are pretty broken in 40K due to the 5+ and 6+ save units running around. You can take the other knights though either in a knight detachment or as your lord of war. Knight acheron is amazing and the Magaera is the Questoris pattern but with a different gun.
