Going to sound like a complete noob but im so confused and its important to have a few questions answered before I assemble my leman russ

in a few days I will be buying and assembling a leman russ for my new guard army. im undecided on how to equip it as im rejoining the hobby, do not currently possess a rulebook and confused about ordnance weapons.

Would I be right in saying a leman russ battle tank could fire its battle cannon, lascannon, and heavy bolters all at full bs if the tank was stationary when it shot?

or even if I stay stationary all other weapons would have to snapfire?

if the latter is true then I see sponsons as worthless and will not equip them

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum or if my questions are tedious but any help would much appreciated

The forums cannot be used instead of a book you don't own...

But I wouldn't invest in sponsons or a lascannon if you intend on using an ordinance weapon as your main gun.

If a vehicle fires Ordnance (regardless if it moves or not) all other weapons fire Snap Shots. That said, there are a couple reasons to get the sponsons.

Leman Russ with out optional weapons have a Hull Weapon and Turret Weapon, meaning there is a 50% chance to lose the main gun on weapon destroyed. 100% chance on hte second Weapon Destroyed result.

A Leman Russ with an optional weapon, and pair of sponsons have 5 weapons (main, hull, optional, left sponson, right sponson) and as such have only a 20% chance of losing the main gun on a weapon destroyed. Which then increases to 25%, 33.3%, 50%, 100%. As Leman Russ' only have a few Hull Points, with optional weapons, your vehicle has a better chance of being destroyed before losing your main gun.

Additionally, the sponsons give you some added flexibility.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Please do not attempt to use Dakka as a substitute for owning the rules.
