Hey guys,

I just order 3 TWC and 1 wolf lord on TW and i was wondering how do you play them and how do yoi equip them to be the best as possible!

Thank you!

Shields, I do at least two shields for every three TWC. After that I'd toss in a couple of Wolf Claws and a Power Fist or Thunder Hammer. They're pretty good all rounders that really can't go wrong. A couple of Shield/Bolt Pistols are also good to absorb shots that might hit the fancy weapons.

I'd also put a Power Sword/SS on at least one model, that way you can use it as a Wolf Lord with a Relic if you're so inclined. Also take a look at a Power Maul, almost like a CC auto cannon that's worth checking out.

Personally, I run a squad of 5. I pay for all of them to have storm Shields. I then run one with a fist and the pack leader with a claw to soak challenges that my lord doesn't want.

Don't forget, that with just chainswords they're still pretty nasty in combat. They're 4 attacks Base at Strength 5 with rending. So add a shield for protection and see what you do. I ran 4 into a riptide with no fist and managed to kill it. Weight of attacks + rending meant failed saves & no saves. It was a great success.

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

You may also want to consider making one a techmarine or just have a backpack as a magnetized bit as having one (which can ride on a TWC as well) can bring 2 wolves to a group for more cheaper ablative wounds as well as satisfy the elite choice needed to make a pure TWC build with the Champion's of Fenris supplment.

He's fairly beastly in combat too with the servoarm adding in more Ap1 hits as well as an extra 2+ armor save model to protect against small arms, Also can peel him off to murderize multiple things in one assault phase.

+ Thought of the day + Not even in death does duty end.

Thanks guys!

So the way i understand it, shield on everybody, 1 fist or thunderhammer, 1 Power sword and pistol for the rest, thats good you think? I have 3 guys + 1 warlord and i bought a iron priest to magnetized it on a wolf so if i want to do a squad of 3 TWC i put my warlord in and play it as a regular TWC and i magnetized the iron priest and i put 2 more wolves.

What you think?

Sounds good but I suggest at least one with a pair of Wolf Claws because not only are they great for things like Shred and getting an extra attack but you can also claim them to be Morkai's Claws if you ever want to get the Champions of Fenris supplement.

Just remember that you should always pick a Bolt Pistol over a Chainsword. You still get the close combat attack with a pistol but you can also get something for Overwatch when you need it.

With 3 TWC, I'd go all shields, a TH and 2 Wolf claws, 1 on the leader. That way, you have a murder squad vs MCs and vehicles. I myself run a larger squad, as I opted for more bodies, less upgrades, but that works for my list.
