Hi guys, just putting together a semi-competitive army list, and so far I have:

Lord:
Sorcerer Lord - 295
Chaos Familiar, Lv4

Heroes:
Exalted Hero - 205
-Disc, Tali of Preservation, 3rd Eye, Enchanted Shield, BSB

Herald of Slaanesh - 150
ASF Locus

Core:

24 Chaos Warriors - 428
MoT, Shields, Standard, Music

19 Daemonettes - 229
Music, Standard

Special:
10 Chaos Knights - 495
Ensorc Weaps, MoT, Blasted Standard, Standard, Music

Rare:
Skullcannon - 135

3 Skullcrushers - 279
Ensorc Weaps, Banner of Rage, Standard, Music

[2214], so far

Now, I've had issues using similar lists for a while owing to hordes of cheap infantry being impossible to break for me. I've thought about 18 strong MSU WoC units, adding in some Ungor Raiders to ambush Warmachines and be a nuisance and making the unit of Skullcrushers bigger or adding another Skullcannon.

Whilst this list sits at only 5 units on the field, it means I am dedicated to supporting each infantry block with either Knights or 'Crushers, and more often then not, i'll get outflanked owing to my opponent having double my unit numbers. While the main purpose of this list is to break one flank and then run through the enemies lines, horde tarpits slow me down drastically.

As you may have guessed, any help would be appreciated, getting tired with losing consistently to hordes.

If hordes are the issue, monsters with breath weapons are a possible solution. Chimeras or WoC Daemon Princes with flaming breath. The Chaos knights are unlikely to pull their weight against such opponents, they'd be an excellent candidate for swappin.

I'd suggest a 2nd skullcannon on general principles.

There's a couple tricks I like to get the most of that Tzeentch ward save on your warriors. Get some MR in there, via banner, spellshield or talisman. The ironcurse icon is also handy. Then your warriors have a 5++ vs a lot more threats. If you continue running the Sorc lord, he's a reasonable candidate.

What lore do you have with the Lord? Metal: final transmutation is an option to thin out those hordes pre-combat.
