I'm splitting the Icestorm starter with an enemy and I'm getting the cooler faction.
I'm trying to plan out my purchases and I'm unsure what to get next. Eventually I think I'll probably have a Corregidor force, outside chance of Bakunin. Every purchase guide I'd read recommends getting the new Interventor box... but they aren't playable in either sectorial. Is it still worth getting?
Whenever the Alguaciles box comes out I'll get that too. I'll use them as moderators if I ever do Bakunin.
So my short term plan is to stick with Vanilla, but ideally new purchases would be stuff that is usable in Corregidor. Using that criteria.. what would you recommend next?

A big question is going to be how do you feel about mixing scales/tiny models?
If you're okay with Wildcats(the Corregidor equivalent of the Grenzer from your Icestorm box) being fairly small then I would say get the Corregidor starter set. It's also worth noting that we might see some blisters of the new Bandit unit coming out soon or a box of Jaguars. The Alguaciles box are currently having production issues.
It's also worth noting that Tunguska(the faction where your Grenzer and Spektr in your Icestorm box are from) are slated to get their own Sectorial in the next book, if that interests you.
I'm going to put a fairly lengthy bit in spoiler tags, it is opinion and I hope you'll at least take it into consideration but not let it sway you if it's something you consider a non-issue. I have a bit of obsessive compulsive disorder and it really only comes into play when doing miniature related things (or anything relating to minute details) so it has affected my purchase habits of late.

What I did:
Got the Interventors box with fast pandas (not only are they adorable but really good)
Got the Iquana Tag.
This makes 300 pts in the back of the icestorm for a all around balanced list IMO.
After a few games, the tag is well, a tag. Not very impressed. The Interventors are the MVP usually.
I bought the Corregidor starter also.
This gives you some options. Right now clockmakers are your only engineer, and the model is horrid looking. Once they have profiles for Tomcats id make sure to use them as a engineer.
Reverend Morasses are also good IMO.

Scale doesn't bother me too much, but some of the older models do. If I go Corregidor, I figure I'll proxy the Grenzer and the Spekter as Intruders though, mainly to save money. I've read that newer players are better sticking with Alguaciles over Wildcats anyway.. so not too worried about that.
I totally forgot about the Bandits and Jaguars. I bet those models will be really nice and may be able to proxy for other units. Is there any concept art for them floating around?
Yeah, I know Interventors are supposed to be good (don't know exactly why yet, but that will come as I get games in), but does Corregidor have any decent hacking options in house? I think my local group prefers Yams over ITS, so I'm not as concerned about having too many specialists. However, hackers are supposed to be good and it's apparently Nomad's thing.
I don't think I want to buy the Corregidor starter right now. I'm happy enough with Agluaciles over Wildcats. The only thing I'm interested in is the hacker. If I ever decide to get a Wildcat link team, then I will probably pick it up.

Corregidor doesn't seem to have that many strong hacking options (for typical Nomad shenanigans).
I'll add that REM are shared across the forces, should you decide to pick a box of each type you should be able to use them in all lists. Just mind their AVA for the appropriate sectorial.

Okay, once I understand the rules better I will keep them in mind.
Is Bakunin the most aggressive out of all the Nomad flavors? They look like are meant to be with the Morlocks and the Furries. Although Jaguars look like they are meant to get up close also.

What you need to know about Nomad Sectorials is that, more or less, they can be broken down into three kinds of "specialties":
Corregidor: Lots of Aerial Deployment options. Hellcats and Tomcats can be taken en masse in the Sectorial itself, which is kind of awesome. Lots of Terrain: Zero-G or Multiterrain as well in the non-Alguacile units. Some cool Mercenary options in the form of Senor Massacre and McMurrough.
Not as "technological" compared to what Bakunin and the forthcoming Tunguska can throw down.
Lots of flamethrowers as well.
Bakunin: Easy and strong access to some powerful tools thanks to the Observance(Reverend Moiras, Sin-Eaters, Reverend Healers, and Reverend Custodiers). Then you have the Zeros and Prowlers for sneakiness.
Tunguska: A lot of this, right now, is speculation but the theme that has been mentioned time and time again is "InfoWar and Technological Supremacy". We've seen that so far from the Interventors and the Spektrs and now we've seen it with the Grenzers as well.

Didn’t know the Grenzer was from Tunguska. I certainly haven’t seen his tech might! At least if you compare gear to the Pano Nisses in the OI box, hes pretty crappy side by side

Thanks for the quick summaries Kan.
Definitely leaning towards Corregidor for future purchases. They look like all of my favorite characters growing up (Snake Eyes, Deadpool, Deathstroke...), and have one of the better looking color schemes. Red/Black/Gray was what all of my robots were in Armored Core. Nomads as a whole look awesome, but especially Corregidor.
I really can't wait to see those Jaguars. I hope my group likes the game enough to expand to 300 points. I'm trying hard not to spend all my holiday money already.

Did you miss the fact that every Grenzer has a Breaker Pistol as a sidearm?
As it stands, Grenzers aren't meant to be the "super tough hardcore" guys that the Nisses are. To give you an idea of the role that the Grenzer is supposed to play for Tunguska, they've been stated to be "equivalent to the Wildcats for Corregidor"--which is kind of awesome for Veteran Troops with MSV L1 and decent point costs.
And don't forget that the Grenzer Forward Observer? He has a Sensor. Check page 90 of N3's Rulebook to see what Sensor can do for you!
As it stands though we know of a few units that will be in Tunguska.
Here's the list:
Kriza Borac(Heavy Infantry that are supposed to be equipped with TO Camouflage)
Grenzers(We have seen what is likely most of the profiles, but I would not be surprised to see more in Acheron Falls when that comes out)
Securitate(Profiles were removed from N3 because they're going to be in Acheron Falls. They're essentially Alguacile equivalents that, as of the last book, had Repeaters and Sixth Sense L1 as standard)
Szalamandra Squadron( TAG with a HMC)
Interventors
Spektrs Automatically Appended Next Post: Red Viper wrote:Thanks for the quick summaries Kan.

Do you have the N3 book?
If so, there's some anime styled artwork of the Jaguars in the Core(read: Background) Book.

No, just the pdf rules. If it still seems like a good idea when my birthday rolls around, I will pick up the book. Until then I have more pressing desires (models and paint). Thanks for the heads up though. If I ever get my hands on the book I will keep an eye out for the Jaguars. Do they look closer to the Wildcats or the Alguacil?

One that's taken drugs. A lot of drugs.
Not the happy, mellow ones, either... the kind that make him look like he's going to use those knives a lot and in very painful ways...

Forward observer, sensor, rifle and light flame thrower is a very nice option he can take. He's not a Nisse but at the moment he simply seems a better Bagh Mari. I bet Grenzer will be linkable in Tunguska and the link will be marvellous.

Corregidor have hackers....Nomads have them all over the place.
Intruders/Aguaciles/Wildcats/Hellcats have hacker profile.
Oh, and REMs are your firends.
As for Grenzer he is more like Bagh-mari then Nisse, its solid unit imo.
Jagulars and Bandits will make this army even more fun to play.
In Tunguska we might see Temple Knights

Don't let that deter you, because quite honestly?
The Black Hand is a conglomerate of operators from all three ships.
Basically if it's special operations for a ship, it's part of the Black Hand.
Intruders, Zeros, and Spektrs are all known to be integral parts of the organization. I would not be surprised to see Bandits, Grenzers, and Kriza Borac given a role as well.

If they get an official sectorial, it will just be a happy surprise.
Still thinking Alguacil and Jaguars boxes will be my next 2 major purchases, whenever they come out. Probably Senor Massacre and a Hellcat also. Maybe Interventors.
