I'm in the market for more Space Marine terminator models for my custom codex chapter.

I already have a painted unit of 5 assault terminators. They are all metal, two with double power claws and three with thunder hammer and storm shield. I bought these as a lot, I imagine they are an old box set.

I want to do a unit of 5 storm bolter/power fist terminators, but none of the photos I'm getting from sellers look quite right.

I'm having a hard time finding the correct pictures online. Can anyone help me out with a list of what metal terminators were released when?

In general, I really like the late 90s metals. I think that's what my assualt terminators are. Is there a late 90s equivalent for Storm Bolter/Power Fist terminators?

I did a photo shoot of my old ones in my blog a while ago. Even among the old metals, there are 2-3 editions of terminators. Most of the differences are subtle.

Thank you for the link. It says these models date to 1989. Was there no update in metal before the modern plastic kits?

Your TDA sergeant with the banner and powersword and terminator with the missle launcher are the style I am looking for. How would I identify them?

You are right, the differences are subtle, but I feel rather particular about it.

At least one.

Check out the HF in the back row: This is the guy from the RTB09 box.

Compare to the more modern HF on this squad:

I know there were at lest two different styles of thunderhammers.

There was one round of 90s metals. Really you can look for slightly more bulk to the body, a more rounded shoulder pad (instead of the shallower, steeper slope of the originals) and a more angular, defined helmet.
The tactical terminators are actually a little different from the assault terminators, some of the assault terminators had bulked up leg/foot armour.
Any metal Space Wolf or Death Wing terminators will be from the same era.
