Hey guys,

I really want to put together a fluffy army complete with the Krassus brothers but theres a problem, for that you would need 3 HQ to pull it off according to the fluff.

Im thinking of a Lord Commissar and command squad in one army representing Decius Krassus and co. with an allied detachment of
Magnus Krassus and his Kappic Eagles.

What i'm not too sure on is the following: Is it legal to have a primary detachment (im running the airborne assault formation for this entire army) and
an allied detachment from the same armies and can on command squad issue orders to the troops in the other force?

Quick idea of what it will look like it.
Primary;
Airborne assault formation;
Commissar,
Command squad,
3x Scion squad
4x Valkyries.

Secondary:
Comand squad,
2x Scion squad.

Many thanks guys, any feed back would be really appreciated.
Sorry if its a bit complicated!

right, both 6th and 7th editions say you cant have your allied detachment be the same as your primary.

but the list you're using is a primary detachment and a formation. it works for you fluff wise - your warlord has to be with the primary detachment command squad on the ground.

a further upside is that you can issue orders from your primary detachment to the formation and vice-versa because they are all from codex: militarum tempestus.

hope this helps...

Actually, if you're going with 7th edition, it's a Combined Arms Detachment and a formation. However, unlike 6th, either one of those can be your primary detachment - meaning your Warlord could come from the Airborne Assault Formation if you would like.
