A shop worker at my official games workshop store told me blood angels preds have the ability to outflank.. I can't see that rule ANY WHERE. nor in any formation, either in the book or death storm expansion. Am I just being dumb?

On another note... has anyone else had some one from their store who is supposed to know the rules to some degree told you alot of bull? I seem to get it almost any time I ask a question. Last time high elves telics had a ward save, then all dark eldar vehicles still have flicker fields, now out flanking preds?!

They used to, it is no longer the case with their new book, the old baal predators had scout, which gave outflank.

Off of the top of my head, there are only a few ways that any unit gains the Outflank special rule. First, the unit in question has either Infiltrate or Scout special rules. Both of those special rules can give the Outflank special rule, if the unit in question is held in reserve. The unit can then enter the battlefield from Reserves using the Outflank special rule.

The only other way other than having the Outflank rule itself, is the unit in question is given Outflank by a Warlord's Trait or special ability granted to it by said method. Hope that helps.

Old outflanking Baals used to be my most dreaded unit when taking on Blood Angels. See that Devastator squad camped out in cover with lascannons? Not anymore you don't!

The 5th Edition Blood Angels Codex moved Baal Predators to FA and gave them the Scout ability which allowed them to Outflank. With the 7E Blood Angels book, they were moved back to Heavy Support and removed the Scout ability and they can no longer Outflank.

Store employees quite frequently are either not up to date on their rules or flat out wrong, but then their job really is to run the store and not really be GM's either.

Yep sorry to agree but in the new rules no outflank ability, unless you have a included warlord who has that ability. I have 2, they used to scare the jebus out of most players, now not so scary.

I never found outflanking Baals that efficacious anyway.
