I posted my last Ahriman fun-list almost two months ago (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/622730.page) and after several games with the list I've learned a couple things and iterated. I like having fun so please keep in mind this is a casual list. I have surprised some people with my highly mobile Psycher phase though - never underestimate Psychic Shriek!!

One, Fateweaver with Ahriman is hilarious. We all know the real reason (rerolling Fateweaver coming in from reserves mirite???) for taking Fate + Ahriman or you wouldn't be here.

Two, I really don't like using the Aegis line (I borrowed my gf's so no lost financial investment yay!).

Three, Ahriman with oblits, even infiltrating, sucks; especially when the oblits are not T5. They basically get to a spot and they're stuck there the entire tineme. It works great if you put them on a point that an opponent really wants but how often does that happen? I've had incredible success with mobile, extremely durable wounds (plus a sarge who can take a challenge on his chin before backup shows up!!). 1k sons are expensive but they do their role perfectly by eating shots. Once, the champ tanked 4/5 of mephistons S10 hits on a 4++ and then the rest of my army showed up to multi assault.

Four, I got a soul grinder for xmas and it looks freaking awesome and I like it.

Five, the loss of screamerstar sorta sucks but makes the list less hardcore overall.

This is a fine list. I ran something similar for a long time. I regret getting rid of mine after mastering the psychic powers and finesse tactics. Dammit. Hindsight, right? If they release new plastics/rules, I'll be back. I kept all my sorcerers.

Anyway, I am all about that life with FW + Ahriman. That Shriek. I wouldn't worry about Infiltrating the Oblits. Would probably fish for Gate of Infinity and default to Shriek on #3 if you don't get Gate.. 3 Oblits deployed turn 1 with Ahriman and then lurk/Gate as needed.. Only throw 1 d6 at it and keep the demons in position to blast Flickering Fire if he shuts down your gate. You'll cast it.. Or if not, just use FW's reroll. If you mishap, well.. re-roll.

You know wtf you're doing, I should just walk away lol.

The nine is all, and all is dust, brother.

Do you play w the rule that Ahriman 'technically' already knows a power from the Tzeentch discipline because he knows the primaris (edit: sp) with Mark?

It's a weird rules interpretation but it does allow you to not roll on Tzeentch powers.

My personal take is that any sorcerer with Mark of Tzeentch must roll on the Tzeentch chart no matter what, after gaining Firestorm.

Poop storm all around. Waste of a power.

Follow up: The argument is that the book says "roll", so we must "roll" at least once.. even if we already get Primaris free.

"Look upon me and know that I can slay you at will. You have no defence save one: to look into the darkness at the back of your own mind. There, you will find Father Nurgle waiting to offer you life in return for your submission. Deny him, and you are mine." — Typhus the Traveller, Herald of Nurgle
