My fiancee and I may be moving out to the bay area in a short month. We're planning on living on the south peninsula...just feeling out the community in the area. Any bay area gamers on the internet? Is gaming big in the bay?

I was just in San Fransisco and I was a bit surprised by the lack of very many GW stores or FLGS. I'm pretty sure there aren't many hobbyists, at least in San Fransisco proper.
I'd recommend swinging by Games of Berkley if you're ever in the area, and/or try searching out the gaming stores in South San Fransisco.

Depending on where in the peninsula you end up settling, Game Kastle may be an option. They have a good, solid community and two locations, one in Santa Clara and another in Fremont (just across from the Peninsula, linked by the Dumbarton Bridge).
I actually administer a 40k/BFG campaign, if you're looking to meet a good group of people (our last campaign lasted about a year, and the new one we're planning currently has 12 players) let me know, we can talk details and see if it's something you might be up for.

Thanks man, that's very generous of you. I'll certainly let you know if I move- I love campaign-driven games.

Also in the south bay you have Legends Comics and Games in Sunnyvale which has a strong 40k group as well as Apokalypse Gaming in San Jose. Really depends on where you’ll end up living and what day you look to game on.
