Hey folks,

I received a very nice Techmarine model as a gift recently, specifically this guy:
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Marine-Techmarine

I've been working through the rules, and I'm a little confused. I have a few questions...

1) According to the codex, a tech marine starts with a servo arm - which is essentially a power fist. Why would you ever take a power axe as an upgrade? It's not a specialist weapon, so you don't get the +1 attack paired with the servo arm. It seems like a waste of points.

I vaguely remember in 5th edition that attacks from a servo arm were independent of a tech marine's attacks, but I can't find rules for that anywhere in 7th. As far as I can tell the techmarine uses the servo arm as his ccw.

2) A techmarine can upgrade his servo arm to a harness. The description for this upgrade reads "gives the bearer an extra servo arm". Does this mean that the model has two specialist weapons, meaning +1 attack?

Thanks!

Just for looks, really. With the current rules for power weapons, there is no point in having the axe, ruleswise.

That's correct.
