hi, I'm new to dakka and I have some questions that I haven't found answers to. I am currently going through my armies and making them look better, haven't played much 40k since 3rd but I have all this plastic/metal and got a hair to make it into something or sell it. Currently focusing on the Crimson badly painted Fists. Mostly stripped, painted very badly when I was 16. Model color Dark Prussian Blue is the greatest thing that has happened to them..

First, I bought some forge world doors for my 2 land raiders, side doors were no problem, they had fallen off anyway but the front ones are a little tricky. What's the best way to get the old ones off and the new ones on? just going to glue them closed so no needing to mess with that mechanism.

Second, I have a pile of Cadians that are unpainted so I wanted to get the forge world hostile environment kits for them. That's easy, if not cheap. The kicker is I wanted to use the chapterhouse SCAR rifles. How do you get them on Guard? The right arm would be easy enough with a knife and clippers but with the left hand on most lasguns and only one hand like the marines its a lot more difficult to figure out. looked on bits sites and no one sells just that arm or its out of stock in one in Germany. As the focus atm is my crimson fists one idea was to use Victoria miniatures arcadian arms, but I would have to wait for the long sleeved universal arms and shoulder pads and go with the AKs.. Hostile environment gear and rolled up sleeves would look silly...

Probably remember a few more later, thanks for any help!

Try a long soak in "simple green" then tooth brush and warm water. I've found that while stripping the joints tend to weaken an fracture right through the super glued joint.

I wish, one spent over a month at the bottom a a simple green bucket, and then a couple weeks in some purple power and only marginally broke the glue seems. Whatever I glued it with was awesome. Was the first of the new land raiders my lgs got . The other one was painted recently so i'd rather not strip it.
