I don't follow Horus Heresy too much, but the FLGS players are getting into 30k. Unfortunately I don't care for it since it's almost all about Marines apart from Mechanicum and Solar Auxilia. I like the former, however, which is where my question comes into play if anyone is able to answer it, prospective or not.

Just curious if anyone would imagine if FW would make Dark Mechanicum along the line for Horus Heresy series; if they intend to go that far into it.

Only asking cuz I'm thinking about getting Mechanicum. Just can't get into the 30k scene since I don't care for Space Marines, but would in a heart beat if any Legion came out in its Chaos version, including Mechanicum. If not, the most I'll do is model the Mechanicum as Dark Mechanicum. Have a feeling they are not going to do that, but maybe at most the Chaos versions of the Space Marines. They currently seem to be on the brink of turning Chaos proper, though, from what I can deduce.

There already is a Dark Mechanicum character, so I imagine (and think they've confirmed) there will be Dark Mechanicum stuff.

In terms of Chaos, the Word Bearers are basically there. They have possessed marines (the Gal Vorbak, some of my favourite models) and can ally with Daemons in the game too.

At the start of the heresy chaos was rather subtle, and most tratior factions fought and used similar equipmint to loyalist factions.

Darkmech was practically identical to Admech back than, deamon engines were not a thing yet.

I suspect that in later books we will start seeing more obvious chaos influences and unit of that type like the WB's Gal Vorbak.
Didn't know they can ally daemons though, that's nifty.

Boomwolf has it about right, basicly right now the influances of chaos are subtle. only the word bearer's and emperor's children showed much sign of chaos by Istavaan V.

Yeah if they take Erebus, Kor Phaeron or their Rite of War, Codex: Deamons can ally as Battle Brothers with them.
