Hey guys, it's Nicole... sorry, It's Sam!

Been to a local (non wargaming) hobby store today and found a 'bargain bucket' of brushes at £1 ($0.60-0.70) each. After sifting through, I managed to find some Very nice sable brushes in various sizes and ended up coming away with far too many! At that price, I really couldn't leave them.

Anyway, my old Citadel brushes are still pretty good but could do with some care. With the purchase of many more brushes to care for, do you guys know of any cheap and cheerful cleaning/conditioning methods? Preferably found in the home!

Look forward to your response

Sam.

Shampoo and conditioner work well enough. It isn't as good at getting the dried in gunk out as brush soaps - but it does an OK job of cleaning and maintaining bristles. Some people like to leave the conditioner in the bristles (then rinse before the next time they paint) others prefer to rinse after conditioning.

I would get a tub of Master's brush cleaner. It's cheap and you'll never regret buying it. (The difference between what Master's does to brushes and what soap does to them is like trying to compare coffee to prescription steroids.)

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome.

+1 for the Masters Brush Soap. It's fairly cheap, lasts quite a while (Obviously it depends on how much you paint) and easily found in most good art stores.

Well I don't need tellin' twice! Purchased a tub and am now awaiting delivery Thanks for the tips guys. I'll definitely end up using the shampoo/conditioner tip once I run out!

Masters lasts forever anyway. The pot seems small but it goes a long way
