Well, the title speaks for itself. Which is the best way to kill Terminators, and, most importantly, Deathwing Knights with Orks?

Mass wounds. 2+ saves only work 83% of the time. Use your shoota boyz to pour on 5/.16 = 31 wounds and you are a statistical maxima to kill the unit. Fewer wounds to cripple. Terminators are some of the worst units in the marine codex on a point for point basis.

30 slugga boys have never failed me against terminators. pincer attack if you have them surrounded

You see, 30 slugga boys work well against regular Terminators, but are useless against Deathwing Knights. They just beat the lights out of them. I've been wondering if there is a way to kill those pesky Knights without having to sacrifice half of your army

I 100% agree with my orks list I have absolutely no problem with terminators. Even if your mass attacks from da boyz don't kill off the termie squad your PK nob should be able to finish them off. Remember what you cant kill effectively with orks you should bog down in combat... another thing a maxed out boy squad can do quite well.

Also do you have any open HS slots? If so a battery of 3 KMK could effectively wipe those pesky termies off the board with a single direct hit.

well, 10 Terminators in a group is really beefy and hard to take down though. Most people chunk em into five man squads and I suppose thats okay as far as it goes, but they are so hard to kill that I personally would just keep them in a big old group and multicharge the crap outta vehicles and such. If orks try to take down ten terminators, it's unlikeluy to happen unless you take the Ork bowling ball I talked about on my blog.

Sluggas will butcher regular terminators or assault terminators with thunder hammers.

Deathwing Knights and assault termies with lightning claws are more of a problem in a pure melee situation, but get your shoota boyz and/or bikers to pump them full of lead and they will die just as easily as any other terminators.

Also, kustom mega kannons.

Slugga Boyz are just as effective against Deathwing Knights as they are against Terminators. A mob of 30, with a Boss Nob+Bosspole (don't bother with a Power Klaw because he will most likely just get krumped in the challenge before he can swing, and they have 3++ anyway. In fact you could probably drop the Nob altogether) on the charge will on average deal exactly 5 unsaved wounds to the Knights. Of course the Knights will swing first, but they'll only do just over 5 unsaved wounds so your remaining Boyz will do just over 4 wounds. Odds are that you will tie combat, except you still have 25 Boyz left and he has a single Knight. Next round of combat it is game over. Even if they are bunkered up to be T5, you'll still do just under 3 unsaved wounds on average.

Of course the real trick is being able to get 30 boyz in to swing in the first round. But with a Waaagh! letting you run then assault, plus re-rolling a die on the charge range, you should be able to get close enough to surround them.

Dakka. Charge. Repeat as necessary.

Terminators, even death wing knights, are no problem for Orks.

Move slugga boyz into charge range. Pour fire into the knights via lootas, bikes, shoota boyz, etc. I generally soften them up with shooting from two squads (typically knocks off at least one termi, sometimes more) before charging to finish them off.

It seems terribly inefficient to dedicate three squads to attacking one, but:

-you outnumber your opponent anyway (at least you should.)

-each unit that you destroy shifts those odds even more in your favor.

-it can be demoralizing to your opponent to see one of his most elite units demolished by your basic troops. This can be an important tactical consideration.

Shock attack gun and mega kannons are handy too

That's why I said SHOOTA boyz.

Make them roll dice. My friend's 20 boyz killed 4 of my terminators because of my abysmal rolling.

As has been said, weight of numbers will beat termies-speaking as a SM player, generally speaking the solution is just making more dice rolls, marines don't come in big enough squads to play the game of attrition.

And when things get really bad....tie them up in combat, hope another unit gets reeeeeeally close (or be willing to sacrifice your own men to place the marker), and then large blast template with something messy

You lose men (or orks, in this case), but losing termies hurts.

I think two mobs of 15 Lootas and one 5-guns Mega Cannon is the best way.

Terminators? Shoots boys. I'm surprised to see so many people talking about slugga boys. Put a battlewagon full of 20 shoots boyz w/ 2 big shootas and you will see them get widdled down. From 18" away.

Then when you do end up charging it will be that much easier to finish them off.

Shoota boyz are more terrifying in general than slugga boyz.

15 burnas, one battlewagon.

if the template hits 5 guys, that's 75 S4 hits. not shots, hits.

38 wounds, 6 dead termies.

if you are facing a big unit (like 10 man termies with powerfists) then a cheap (ish) unit of nobs with powerklaws could work. 4 S9 AP2 attacks each, at the same time as the opponent.

if they rock AP3+ initiative order attacks, upgrade to meganobs.

an alternative is to add in grotsnik, who would only be any real good if they don't pack too much AP2 instagib attacks (EG they all have lightning claws). 4 meganobs with killsaws and grotsnik, rolling 2 extra attacks for rampage, output what we call a "crapton" of S9 attacks. even if it is as they die, it'll wipe the termies out. viva la suicide bommas!

5 Terminators are 200 points, you can field 30 Boyz for that.
120 attacks, 60 hits, 30 wounds and thus 5 fails.

You might use other equipment, other stuff or God knows what.
But it comes down to one thing: Swarm them in bodies, they will still lose more points than you.
Numbers, numbers, numbers. That is what Orks are good at and what Terminators are bad at.

-Bog them down in boyz

-Kustom Mega kannons

-Concentrated firepower

Basically, the short answer is practically the entire codex. But the same can be said for any codex almost. Is there any unit that terminators ARE efficient against?

A squad of 20-30 boys is far more valuable then a 5 man Terminator squad.

I play both Orks and SM/Grey Knights.

I don't mess around with Orks. I try to stay beyond 18 inches and shoot away.

You can easily lose three Terminators to a ten man Marine squad doing rapid fire

Ally imperial guardsmen and shoot them with lasguns.

Mmm I think this is a bogus question. Any large squad of Orks can kill Terminators. Just roll more dice.
