Hi all,

I was thinking about painting some Flawless Host Chaos Space Marines. At least a squad of them. Thing is, since it isn't one of the major warbands, there aren't very many tutorials on how to paint them. And the one that I did find doesn't use Citadel Paints (I prefer Citadel Paints due to the fact that I can obtain them very easily).

I would hope my miniatures would look something like this:

Or this:

The first one, I would think, would be easier to paint due to it not being as light. I prefer the look of the second one, however, I don't want to paint a bunch of guys like that if it ends up being too much of a headache. Coat upon coat can get rather tedious.

What paints and washes would be appropriate to paint a faction such as the Flawless Host?

Why would the second one be a headache? Pallid Witch Flesh under Carroburg Crimson - boom, armor done.

I just assumed that using a very light color would require a few layers. And lairs can take awhile assuming how thorough you are.

It will over a black undercoat, but not over a white one. You could, in fact, white undercoat, crimson wash, highlight with pallid witch flesh.

There is a taleofpainters page that shows it here

Rakarth flesh, pallid wych flesh, carroburg crimson, and maybe some lahmain medium with screamer pink to make some washes. Easy
