OK, so in an attempt to forge a narrative between a friend and I, I have been fiddling with a chaos list. It came about when helping him create his own space marine chapter and back story. He has essentially built an iron hands list and I really like it. I've had fun helping him build it and it seems to play quite nicely too. Of course, what would a new chapter be with out their arch enemies.... So, I have tried to almost mirror his list. But in chaos form of course. But I need some help with final touches.

Here's the list in its basic form. It's a CAD obviously as that's all we can take at the moment...

HQ - Typhus
HQ - Warpsmith, Aura of dark glory, gift, MoN.

Troops - Plague zombies x20
Troops - Plague zombies x20

Heavy - Forgefiend, ect cannons, extra ect cannon.
Heavy - Forgefiend hades cannons
Heavy - Defiler.

Formation - Mayhem pack.
Helbrute, powerfist, multi melta.
Helbrute, 2x powerfist with heavy flamer.
Helbrute, Thunder hammer, multi melta.

Now the back story is being worked out, it's essentially about a fallen forge world. But here's where I'm struggling to make a choice. If I take the list from the black legion book I can give the warpsmith who is likely to be my warlord for narrative, the skull and therefore he gains eternal warrior and adamantium will. But if I select the list from crimson slaughter I can give him the slaughters horns for some rage goodness, and the daemon heart. I know he already has a 2+ but it also grants him it will not die. And I don't know which is more useful. Remember, he's T5 anyway thanks to MoN. And the other bonus from the slaughter book is that every unit gains the fear rule. Fear causing fearless zombies?! Sounds good.... What does dakka think?

I also contemplated a second defiled instead of the Forgefiend with ect cannons.

Eternal Warrior doesn't sound too useful on a two-wound model that is unable to take a patron mount to augment his stats and provide mobility. IWND would also be more fitting in narrative against the Iron Hands-themed army.

Yeah, I thought that. It's better for narrative, and I actually think it'll keep him alive longer considering he's T5 so only S10 can instant kill him...

How much strength 10 are you planning on throwing your warpsmith at? Wouldn't bother with any upgrades over Mark of Nurgle, the base warpsmith is pretty good.

The rest of the list seems sturdy, if lacking in teeth. I would suggest dropping the defiler and getting something more choppy..

Oblits/spawn/ helldrake

I thought about obits, but they struggle in the theme.... Spawn is a no. I don't like them no matter how good they are. As for a drake. I love them. And they fit the story... But if I'm running three helbrutes in reserve, I don't want to really be adding another reserve too...its a few too many models off of the board.
