In an effort to help me expand my Neverborn selection, a buddy bought me the Dreamer's newer box. It hasn't arrived yet, so I don't have his cards in front of me. What I'm wondering is, what models should I plan on picking up in addition to his box.
I know that the standard answer is "go check pullmyfinger". Now I love pullmyfinger as much as the next guy, but i find that there is a bit of a tendency to treat almost everything as if it was equally viable and all playstyles as having merit. Being a player who, while not WAAC, considers himself fairly competitive, I have a hard time swallowing that because experience doesn't bear it out.
There are 3 things I'm wondering about:
1. What hitters work well with The Dreamer
2. What objective runners should I look for
3. What support pieces does he like to run

I've heard that stitched together are really useful with Dreamer. As is his big cuddly Teddy. I haven't finished painting him yet so I haven't got to run him, so that's purely from what I've picked up from the store/A Wyrd Place, sorry

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own... |

They aren't equally viable...for the same scheme, but I'm not a Dreamer player myself (though I've dealt with him enough).

1. Lord Chompy Bits is an obvious one, but my first thought was the Teddy. This is especially true if you want to go for the Mr. Tannen/summoning shenanigan that lets you summon a Teddy off of a 13 of masks. The Illuminated are incredible for 7SS, require dedicated models to take out, and can do things all on their own.
EDIT: I completely forgot about the twins, Lelu and Lilitu. Please don't make my mistake!
2. Terror Tots are very popular for Neverborn. Stitched Together can fill this role. As with the Guild and Watchers vs. Guild Hounds, it comes down to taste.
3. The Dreamer is a fantastic support piece himself. Stitched Together can generate cover. If you can get your hands on a Widow Weaver, she's wonderful for reducing willpower.
EDIT: An Insidious Madness (or more, you can summon them) is always annoying for the oponent.

Depends how you want to run him but you'll get the most mileage out of:
Stitched Togethers
Insidious Madness
Teddy (x 2)
Mr Tannen
Lelu
Lilutu
Widow Weaver
Maybe throw in Terror Tots for some scheme runners if you don't want to summon scheme runners.

Awesome. From the sounds of it, I've already got half of what I need. I bought 2 teddys and weaver widow back when i ran summon shenanigans with zoraida in 1.5, and stitched were part of that crew as well.
Just to be clear, is Mr. Tannen taken for the +2 to mask values?

Teddy, insidious madness, stitched, lelu, lilitu, widow weaver. Pretty much any nightmare is solid with dreamer.

I wouldn't take him just for that.
He's 6SS, has a fantastic aura that requires your opponent to discard a card to cheat on a model near him, and can block out soulstone use, reduce walks/charges, and prevent interact actions near him.
The +2 is just icing on the cake, like an Oiran's lure.

This.
But the +2 to mask values is what makes summoning a Teddy possible outside of some luck with corpse markers and a Widow Weaver.

Finally got him in, and played my first game. Slim victory against a nico zombie swarm.
First impression is that The Dreamer and Chompy feel very vulnerable, but also extremely good at bringing the right assets to bear in the right place at the right time. Definitely more challenging to play than collodi's rolling ball of death, but I think it could end up being very tactically rewarding.

Second match just finished, decided to go for a chompy pain train instead of a summon fest this time... oh god that reckoning match was a thing of wonder.
There are few things more beautiful than Chompy and Teddy steaming down the board (teddy with On dreaming wings).
According to my opponent... oh god oh god make it stop.
I like that there are a couple VASTLY DIFFERENT ways that the Dreamer can be played, and both of them are a lot of fun

He really is, now i have dreamer, collodi, and zoraida, all of which share a fairly large model pool and can take care of a fair range of strategies/schemes.
