It's all in the title, what do you think of the fixed troop variations of the Death Company/Death Company dreadnought? Do think they're worth taking in a list, or are they gimmick-y and better off taking a tactical squad?

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Overpriced and equipped poorly. Admittedly, Crassor only needs to lose the Blood Talons so if you are including a Death Company Dread, it is nice to be in the Troops section. He's included in mine until I no longer need troops at all (Archangels and Formations are my end goal)

But Raphen's squad has one Ablative Wound model (base equipment), one Power Sword to kill MEQ in CC and for some reason there's a random Infernus pistol... What good is just one??? That plus the lack of Bolters on the Specialist Weapon models (Hammer and Fist) means it's a waste of Relentless. If you could change these things, or add more models, it would be worth it but not as they are. Fine to start, maybe, sure, but they need to be turned into a normal Death Company Squad as soon as possible and put in the Elites while a Tactical Squad takes up the Troops role.

Yeah the death company squad is poorly equipped and over priced. Cassor, however, is a pretty solid troop choice.

Raphen is pretty overpriced.
Cassor is awesome and only slightly too expensive, but that is fine since he is a Troop-slot ánd benefits from our Primaris Power.

You are paying 5 pts to use a Dreadnought in a Troops slot, what's not to like? Cassor is fine. Raphen's squad has too much equipment. There is only one normal DC in there.

The only other bad thing about Cassor is that you can't equip him with a Drop Pod unless you spend a Fast Attack slot.

15 Since he has the useless Blood Talons.
And like I said: He can get a really high amount of attacks if you have Psykers near him.

They aren't completely useless. Against a MC he rerolls wounds so as to rip a Wraithknight in half. But yes, Sanguinary discipline Librarian turns him into a blender.
