I... actually don't know. Help?

So, I want to convert Chaos Marines to Thousand Sons, without ahving to buy the upgrade kit. I could buy the heads at Bitsandkits, the bolters could be converted with some GS, the robes, well, GS, and... Well, any suggestions?

Simply put, screw that upgrade kit. Get some small strips of plasticard and some fairly thin but sturdy sheets. Use an exacto and shape your crests, and put strips on.

Have you considered using the legs/torsos from the dark angel veteran sprue (not box)?

Those are pretty cheap robed bodies and you get some terminator legs to base an obliterator scratch build around

Take a look at the stuff from Spellcrow. They have some great Thousand-sons-esque stuff.
