OK, so I'm trying to create an iron hands type chaos list by mashing up iron warriors with nurgle. With am associated back story, this is what I've come up with. Let me know what you think... And I'm one of those guys that likes to fit a story and a theme... But is very keen on winning. I've selected the list from crimson slaughter just to give the non daemon engines fear, and for a relic for my priest. So, here it is...

CAD - Crimson slaughter.

HQ - Typhus
HQ - Warpsmith, daemon heart (for 'it will not die'), MoN, Aura of dark glory,

Troops - 25 plague zombies. (typhus goes here)
Troops - 7 plague marines, 2 plasma guns, champ with lightening claw and melta bombs, vets of the long war, rhino. (warpsmith goes here)

Elites - Chaos Decimator Engine, dedication to nurgle, two siege claws
Elites - Chaos Decimator Engine, dedication to nurgle, two siege claws

Heavy - Maulerfiend, lasher tendrils
Heavy - Maulerfiend, lasher tendrils

I will probably choose to deeps trike the decimators the big zombie blog should deliver typhus all be it slowly, but the maulers and rhino should be quick enough to join the decimators when they drop turn two..... Hopefully.....

Looks pretty good for 1500. Two maulers and a rhino isn't much of a rush. Would want to get some spawn/fast daemons joining in.

Worth investigating the renegade and heretics zombies. Much cheaper way of getting a zombie horse going (unless you are really set on typhus).

Not sure how good the decimator is, would like to know how it plays.

Crimson slaughter can take vets. But only on bezerkers, plague marines, thousand sons and noise marines.

I agree the daemon heart is a bit of a waste.... It was mostly to fit the theme. What would you suggest doing with just 30 points saved though? I'm not dead set on typhus, but I do think his rules are uber cool, and I was going to use the forge world typhon model. I didn't know there was other zombies available, where can you find those? I know there is an issue with a small rush, fixing it and remaining thematic is an issue though. Especially with points already being tough. The only real way to free up points is typhus, and if I drop him then I lose both the zombies and the plague marines as troop choices. And I just don't think non fearless CSM cut the mustard. They're dreadful.

command squad with covenant of nurgle 55pts

The fw zombies are only 3 pts each and don't need a champion. Only ws 2 but 4+ fnp and get d3 zombies for every unit you break/wipe.. the command squad is pretty pointless but cheap.

This also unlocks all the renegade guard options, some of which are very strong.

Saying that if you have a model in mind then go for it, the FW Calas Typhon model is boss.

Good point on the plague marines but im not sure the upgrade is worth it.

Remember every 36 points saved is one chaos spawn who can add to the rush saturation and protect the maulerfiends.

So many people push the spawn.... I'm really not a fan. What am. I missing? I'll have to look into the renegades? About to order imperial armour 13...ive heard there's some gems in there's. Where's the renegade rules found?

yep they are in IA 13. Definitely some gems, but i'm left with a massive shopping list since getting it.

Haha, just done some research... I feel I may be in the same boat as they seem to have made them competitive again....

I am in the process of selling my csm so I may have a chance to use that money towards R&H army.

So, any more thoughts on the list?
