So one of the things i do like about the 40k setting is the amount of heroic punching that goes on. Mind you, for a while there i liked dragonballz too (but that's another topic). There's just something epic and inspirational about futuristic sci-fi warriors punching the galaxy into submission, one planet at a time. Here's a list to start us off:

1 leman russ punches a warlord titan in the face, destroying it
2 the emperor punches leman russ into swearing fealty
3 lion el'jonson punches leman russ into unconsciousness
4 fulgrim punches a wraithlord to death
5 fulgrim punches the avatar to death
6 marneus calgar punches the avatar to death

I can't decide which one i like the most, so i'll roll a D6 for it. What are your favourite 40k punches and why?

In the warp, searching for Marbo

I know this isn't 'canon' but in a game of Dark Heresy, my guardsman Fral Leman, came flying into a battlefield where my party members (and a commissar with a demon horn stuck in his gut) were trying to hold off a chaos lord in Term armor who'd just been summoned from a portal in a ritual that we failed to stop.

Fral Leman(after putting on a loop of Epic Sax Guy music) open the hatch of the Fury Interceptor he was flying, got out on it. He powered up his Powerfist, and readied his jump pack. Then, surfing on the front of the ship at about 400kpm, slammed the ship into the chaos lord, and punched his un-protected face with the powerfist before engaging his jump pack to save himself.

The chaos lord died near instantly, and portals all over the world began to close.

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

The imperium is so big, it might as well be canon. Also, that's pretty impressive.

An epic punch is an epic punch, and this is the game for it.

If we're counting in-game stuff, I have the ugliest Commander model in the universe (friend sold him to me for 7 bucks, still haven't repainted him yet) and my playgroup has given him the nomicker "Commander Brownpants". I almost always pay the 5 points to stick an Onager on him (Because sometimes you need a donkey punch). In my very first game against an Imp Knight, my friend had just recently bought two of them. Having never played against them (and not owning any Tau superheavies myself) I was mildly worried, but I had a plan. Turn one comes and I lay down two melta shots on the first Knight.. and charge it with 14 drones and a Commander! I fully expected him to die on turn 2 so I could wrap the second Knight up (having spent all my AT killing hte first one turn one), but freakin' Brownpants stands toe-to-toe with this Knight for four turns, putting a Pen on it each round. It was one of those unexpected, hilariously one-sided epic duels that the dice just wouldn't end. He eventually wound up getting squashed, but I'll always remember that game.

Who's the Ork who punched some space marine leader's head clean off in one shot? I like any time a space marine gets their head punched off.

In-game - A Lord Commissar demonstrating the correct usage of a power fist with the help of a Tervigon's face. The only reason it got away is because of the Trygon that came running to help. He needed both of them ganging up on him to put an end to his rampage.

Also, Captain Titus repeatedly, gleefully, and with righteousness aforethought punching seven shades of gak out of a newly-born daemon prince.

My favorite is when Magnus the red enlarged himself and slapped a warlord titan with his bare hands.

Please tell me that wasn't actually in a piece of "literature."

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

If you don't read the "with his bare hands" bit at the end it becomes even better

1) You cannot win. 2) You cannot break even. 3) You cannot stop playing the game.

I am now very glad that I've never wasted money on the trash that the Black Library obviously produces.

This was epic!

The wolves go for the throat.
We go for the eyes.
Then the tongue.
Then the hands.
Then the feet
Then we skin the crippled remains.

In game : My fusion blades Commander(Tau) broke his fusion blades over Kharnes face(game mechanic where they stop working on a roll of a 1) killed him, turned around and falcon punched Skulltaker -this was one combat- in the head KO'ing him before going at Belakor for round 2.

In fluff; Theirs a story where the Tau had to go hand to hand with the Vostroyan guard from the Cities of Death book. Considering Tau don't have much in the way of combat knives I like to believe they charged in decking all those silly hat wearing dudes. Actually, anything involving Tau hitting things and winning is hilarious.

In most of the official art, to demonstrate an army's close combat power, they always seem to illustrate them killing Tau. Vostroyans gutting firewarriors with swords, Possessed attacking firewarriors, etc, etc.

Except for Ultramarines; they get to be pictured killing Chaos Space Marines.

I've always found that particularly bemusing.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
