Veteran Knight Baron in a Crusader

At my desk

I have an 1850 Eldar Army (mostly shoot-y) and a friend of mine (due to being luckier than I on Christmas) has recently upped his force (Nurgle Marines) to 2500 points. Does any one have any suggestions on bridging the gap with some Dark Eldar Allies? Any advice or experience is appreciated.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Haemonculus Covens supplement. The formations in there are solid gold, especially if you use an Autarch or Farseer as your HQ. Scarlet Epicureans, Grotesqueries, Scalpel Squadrons, and Corpsethief Claws add some tasty assault and/or shooty goodness to your army, some reserve capability, and some Ld negs to stack with the Primaris powers from Telepathy and/or Runes of Fate.

A 'gunboat' Raider with Night Shields, Aethersails and Splinter Racks with either 9 Kabalites and an Archon, to minimize points cost without the 'Court is a seperate thing' hassle and Ld buff when the Raider takes a penetrating hit, or just ten Warriors. Jink it the entire time, snap fire the Disintegrator Cannon just cause.

An Eldar Farseer fishing for Invisibility in a Reaver squad with 3 Blasters and 3 Cluster Caltrops (a case can be made for the Grav Talons on one) can be something of an Infantry killing Deathstar. Amazing output of shots, far better amount of attacks in Assault, Combat Drugs, Hit and Run, and that Invisibility... For even more damage, add an Autarch with Banshee mask in the mix too. Not a lot of things can survive that.

The Scalpel Squadron Formation is very self sufficient and can net you some early points. Simple enough to include and use to its full potential.

A few things

1st: get an Archon, with a Web Way Portal, this is very important to have.

Reason why he is good
1) Put him in any unit, give it DS no scatter
2) Have a Flamer unit and a AT unit, at start of game pick what you need more importantly and give that unit DS no Scatter
3) he can have a 2+ invul so he can take wounds instad of your Eldar

2nd: Get a Raider, its an Open top vehicle, meaning you can charge out of it.. You need a melee unit to get somewhere fast, Raider will do it, with a 4+ jink and mobility, you can get them into combat.

With a raider or 2 and a Archon, add eldar unit to fit with those 2 units and your good. Just use 5 Warriors as Troops for tax, have them camp a point or shoot at MC's, poison makes it easier for them to pop some wounds off.
