Due to the top-heavy unbalanced nature of the model with the giant banner dangling behind him, there is no way he can perch on a giant rock.

Thinking about it now though, I should have done a 'step' in the rock, tilting him forward and raising the banner.
The model is just annoying enough that I may have to redo the base....

Pretty rubbish on the field, as got led around by small empire units, but when they did get into combat.... they killed 3 empire spearmen. I hate my dice rolling.

Very happy with the explosive smoke effects at the base of his force field, trying out greys, then coloured washes.

A very difficult model to paint with the sheer number of tiny details and so many texture types.

Sat on my workbench for months as I tried work out how to update the style from my last M.O.D.O.K. model about 5 years ago (pic at end comparing)
Then just dove in and painted him in an evening.

The model comes with a plastic stand that looks like a gush of smoke to suspend it in the air.
So I didn't insert that and instead it is balanced on a thick paperclip, disguised as a straw from a discarded drink cup.

The explosion was palid whych flesh and then mix of GW yellow orange and red washes mixed with corresponding opaque colour for a mix of depth and vibrancy.

I need to get to some of my MCP backlog someday. So many great models.

So the year almost done.

What is in store for 2025?
Essentially it is a huge backlog clear out of the systems I have.
There may be other stuff (WTOW units rebasing will be sure to occur)
Current plan for painting in 2025:

5 Inquisitor scale models
20 Astra Militarum Units/Vehicles/groups characters
5 Warhammer Underworlds Warbands
50 MCP models
2 full sets of MCP Terrain
3 Full gang equivalents for Necromunda.

So lots....

Some I am getting ready to go onto:

The start of what will be my main hobby focus in 2025.

This army goes back to their release in 97 and I purchased the original limited release box.
Then I bought a few more boxes.

Then in 1999 I lived in the UK for a year and utilised their direct order system and bought lots, and lots of specific models.

95-2003 was my golden era for 40K, the games were fun, the models had character, a low income male with no kids could afford to buy bucket loads of models, not like today.

I sold the army back in 2004 to get me through 2nd year medical school and lo and behold I found the army and rebought most of it.

Coupled with models I did not sell/were stored elsewhere and did not sell I have quite the collection saved up.

Time to get going on it.
