So I just fished out my compressor to finally have a go at air brushing and have discovered the person who sold it to me decided to take the pressure regulator off and replace it with a trap and guage that doesnt have one.

Anyone know of somewhere that sells a pressure reg for an as18? I have found a few that are all 1/4" fittings. Yes I could get adaptors but they are all around the £15 I was hoping to avoid that sort of money.

Depending on how lucky you are - you can occasionally get one for free from the manufacturer (or possibly the rebrander).

That compressor is made by Toma Tools:

It gets rebranded and sold by a few dozen different companies. The fitting itself should be a 1/8 BSP off the compressor (been a while, so I can't recall if it is male or female). Regulators with moisture traps (like the one that came with it) will cost a bit unfortunately. I can't think of a source that would have them for less than the 15 quid real money you are looking to avoid.

With the low cutoff, you could go with a line regulator - but normally you will want something before that to reduce it down closer to your working pressure. Those can be had for fairly cheap...still might end up more than £15 though.

Thanks man.

Yeh, looks like 15 money it is. Seems a waste when the whole compressor kit costs 50 money XD

Theres one for an as186 compressor.

Approx £15.

Very similar looking one on ebay for £9.99, item number 191265916762

Found some cheaper, but they didnt have useful ranges on the guage, you should pay attention to the increment size on the dial, and if its in bars or psi etc.

Edit; screwfix will probably have the adapters you need cheap enough too, or perhaps wickes, or a local plumbing / hardware shop.

Its a 1/4" to 1/8" BSP connector that you need, depending on the threads male to female.. male to male... etc il let you work out what combination of ends you need when you find the huge range of fittings.
The right ones to suit and a roll of ptfe tape to seal the join and your good to go.
