Was testing out a few plastic pieces with texture to get a ship deck looking base. This is nowhere near a final look just wanted to see how it looked. Trying to come up with ways of making it less monochromatic. I have other ship pieces I will be adding to larger bases. Maybe some blood on the floor both alien and human.

get some wires under the floor or poking out - you can use actual red/blue/yellow wires or just plastic tubing painted in those colors.

That's a tough picture to get perspective on, how large are those pieces? Is this for 25mm bases (nids?) and will it cover a base that size?
Anyway I love the texture, I don't think it'll take much work to make them look good. Cables are definitely a good idea, maybe a raised step on one or two of them...

My smallest bases will be 40mm in my nid army. Using warriors as troops. Though I could fit the texture pieces onto smaller bases. I do have some bigger pieces to use on MC bases(ladders and storage containers). This was just to see how these pieces fit together. One is a florescent lighting panel. The sheet is about 2 feet by 4 feet the other is plastic canvas.

Oh that's a good sized piece you have then... well you could make a silicone mold of the texture and then stamp out all of your bases.

Yeah doing a greenstuff stamp would make things go much quicker. I like doing custom bases and giving them a unified theme but making each unique.. My alienids is going to be relatively small to begin. Its all big guys.
2 Tyrants
3 Venomthropes
4x3 Warriors
3x2 Fexes
Used the same texture to do do some wreckage and mud for my Knights.

Found some of the grating stuff in a smaller square. Looks alot better then the bigger grates. It looks like someone could actually walk over this and not lose a foot.
Here is the bigger one(used in this mock up) next to the smaller one.
