Just finished up painting the 17 Vangaurd Troopers from the "Sedition Wars Battle for Alabaster" game. They're a major pain in the tuchus to cleanup and assemble. On the other hand they're also a real bargain for very nice sculpts that really brought out the best in my base-detail-dip painting process.
Pics and process here: http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2015/01/sedition-wars-good-deal-for-patient.html

Curse you, Eilif! I'm almost finished with the last of my Project Pandora minis and was looking forward to being done with restic, for a while. Now you've got me considering taking a crack at my Sedition Wars box...

Darefsy,
Thanks, but they're done.

Oadie,
Come on, you know you like the frustration and pain of working in restic. It just makes the finished result that more pleasing.

I'm a sucker for punishment. I'm actually going to buy a second box to bulk out the Vanguard in to a large platoon.

The painting is ok but you need to pay more attention to removal of flash. The first one with the helmet has very evident flash on the left arm which ruins them for me.

Yeah, the flash is murder on these figs. Lots of it, and since it's restic it's especially annoying to remove. I thought I had gotten it all, but when some of it showed up after priming, I said "screw it" and painted anyway.

Luckily the picture is 4x reality and in person it's barely noticeable.

With the second batch I'm going to be a bit more careful with flash removal and probably do some mods as well. Swapping heads between the various poses and such.
