If any? In 6th before the proliferation of dataslates it always seemed as if every major tournament only allowed 2 detachments max (or 1 primary/1 allied). With 7th, and so many small 'formations' eg; cypher, hellbrutes, solo assassin, solo knight counting as a formation each and thus taking up one of these two slots, which tournaments have caught up with the times?

I'm not sure if there are any major ones with three or more detachments/formations. In the GTs/Caledonian Uprising, with regards to your specific examples, I think you could be allowed more than three sources so long as they fit in to the two detachment system e.g. You have a CSM primary, Daemon allies, and take Cypher as one of your CSM HQ slots.

Ah right, cheers. So formations wouldn't count as a detachment? That would be useful.
So it'd still be impossible to take for example, 1 CAD, 1 Allies and an inquisitor? Eg: BA main, AM allies and Inq detachment?

No I think formations do. Formations ARE a kind of detachment after all. An Inquisitorial detachment is still a detachment even if it is only one Inquisitor.

I've just reread the Cypher dataslate and that was a bad example for me to use, as he doesn't take up a HQ slot. To be honest it will vary slightly from tournament to tournament and you are better off asking the organisers.

Belakor is an better example since he is an HQ Army List Entry for either CSM or Daemons. So he simply takes up an HQ slot in the same way as a Chaos Sorcerer or Lord of Change does for example.
CSM CAD, Daemon allied detachment, Be'Lakor as a HQ choice. Two detachments but three sources.

EDIT: I think Cypher is fine, he just doesn't take up a slot is all. You could probably have CSM CAD with Belakor as a HQ and Cypher not taking up a slot, then have Daemon allies. Four sources but still only two detachments. But yeah, check.

Essex, UK

None currently.

Cypher/Belakor are dataslates just like any other Faction unit. They are not a 'source' or detachment.

Currently the GT allows any 2 detachments. Cally allows 2 sources but only one can be a 'detachment' type so CAD or Company of the Great Wolf, Baal, Nemesis, Real Space Raiders etc.
