Well, my next project is going to be a Mechanicum army. As I save up for a large Forge World order I have decided to experiment with making my own Magos.

I am drawing inspration from these guys:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Mechanicum/Mechanicum_HQ?filter_reset=1

I am thinking of using her for a Lachrimallus (Thrall based) leader. She will be on a Abeyant (one of those Anti-grav sled things) as she cannot move on her own.

I have yet to begin on the Abeyant and she still needs some detail work (rivets and stuff) I think I shall put two Thralls on her Abeyant and magnetize them for weapon options.

Well, I have worked on her more. I have begun work on the Abeyant.

I really like how she is coming along, but there is still a lot of stuff up in the air.

Do the servo arms and stuff add to it or is it too complex? They are just tacked on for now.

I am going to put Thralls on the back of the Abeyant and magnetize them so I can change weapon options if I so wish. I am going to take some Zombies or something and cyber them up.

Any suggestions or comments?

Wow! That's very impressive, I can't wait to see it when it's completed.

I'm getting a bit of a John Blanche vibe, and some Aliens. Really cool, I can't wait to see it painted up!

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

I'll say the servo arms look the part, if somewhat tentatively. Couldn't give my definitive opinion until I see how busy things get with the thralls in the back, but I think it will work out nicely.

I had an idea about what to do with the back besides having two thralls riding. I made her into a living factory. She throws 'raw materials' in to the grinder up front and Tech-Thralls come out the back. Kind of a queen bee sort of thing. What do you think?

All she needs is:
1: Make the 'heavy' weapon options and magnetize them and the mount on her left.
2: Smooth out the edges of the mechanical parts and give them crisp edges.
3: Rivets and stuff.

Is the Thrall coming out too much?

Unless someone spots a huge errors I am thinking off calling her done. I have given her a giant rat cyber-fimiliar and rivets and such.

I noticed the mechanics emblem was wrong, the skull needed to be half machine. I fixed this and primed the model, the sculpting phase is officially done. I'll begin the painting this weekend and post the progress as I go.

I have started painting, still a lot of work to go but you can see where I am going with the colors now. I may add some more colors and I will bring out a lot more details.

I am thinking of changing the color of her robes so she does not blend in so much. A brighter red maybe? Ideas?

And suggestions are welcome

EDIT: larger pictures in thread.

Much better pics Great job, I am not big fan of servitor/automata "birth mechanism" but it really looks good and not out of place on your model (this is not a critic but matter of personal taste).
Do you plan to expand from here or was this kinda one off project?

Ya, I'm kind of nervous about the 'birth mechanism' it is a little risky.

I took these pictures in a bathroom shelf I think I need to fabricate a light box to get better pictures.

I am not done with this miniature yet, and yes, it is part of a bigger project, I am going to do a 30k Mechanicum army. I may revisit this later as I work on the army and get more ideas. Think of this as a prototype.

Some pictures in the sunlight after some dull-coat. I think I am going to call it semi-done (I am going to let it sit and I'll revisit it later when I am working on her army). Suggestions are welcome.

Maybe to add some details on the base.

Good point, it is very plain. I don't know what to add just yet. Maybe I'll get some ideas when I base the other miniatures.

EDIT: I got my hands on five of the Mechanicum Thralls from Ebay so I could play with colors and stuff. I am going to replace the legs coming out the back with one of the Thralls. I think I will make it emerging head first. With the legs sticking out some people have wondered if it was someone being sucked in. I'll look into some detail for the base while I am doing this.
