Hi guys

I'm Chris from the UK.

I've just got back into 40k since being at school (im 30 something now) and I'm looking at building a Tyranid army, I just got hold of the Wrath of the Hive Mind box today and bagged 12 Hormagaunts and a Broodlord for Christmas.

One thing that's been puzzling me is the various attachments available or the Biomorphs should I say, If I stick some Toxin sacs and Adrenal Glands onto my minis, would I be expected to take those options into the game, or is it just for the look?

I don't have the current Codex yet but it's one of the next things for me to buy, I think I have the 1st Edition Codex, It was only £3 on Ebay so thought it was a bargin to get me started and give me some info, there appears to be loads missing from it.

Thanks Jihadin, just looking to find my feet and get some advise about the Nids.

I was drawn back into 40K after a brief episode as a kid, it was a niggling feeling I was getting all the time, that I needed something to do that didn't involve a playstation, everytime I passed a GW I was like, 'I wouldn't mind getting back into all that again' I finally took the plunge with Dark Vengeance and now all is calm .

I decided that I wanted to build a Tyranid army, simply because they look awesome, word is they're weak but I'm mostly in it for the painting and collecting so I can live with that, I guess learning some good strategy and unit choice would make for a good game.

Sorry for the life story :p, but it's where im at.
