Hi,
I Had a game against an codex space Marine Army today.
He was Using an allied inquisitorial detachment consisting of coteaz and as the Elite choice he Had 2x10 squads of scions with hot Shot lasgun,2xmelter per squad.
The Rest was a normal Bound space army...2hqs with tigurius and a ML 2 psyker,
3tac squads and centurions...termis etc.
After the game i was quite...unsure After Reading the inquisition article on 4chan im not convinced how he could Field those scions?.?

He couldn't. Scions are not an option for Inquisitors.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

They're probably not Scions but henchmen instead. As you can equip those with hot-shot lasguns, carpace armor and some specialist guns.

I do the same. Scions are perfect for the job.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

Not exact same rules I think. But Inquisitoral Henchmen can take a lot of the equipment they use. Thus making the Scion models perfect replacements for henchmen as they have no models.

They might be around the same points. Or close to at least.

This probably happaned.

Ehhh, the henchmen would cost more per model. But they could get the same gear at a lower BS.

An Acolyte with Carapace Armour and a Hot Shot Lasgun is nearly identical in load-out and points.
So are you sure they were Scions and not Scion-models-used-to-represent-Acolytes?

Almost. 10 Acolytes (8 with Carapace/Laspistol/Hot-Shot Lasgun, 2 with Carapace/Laspistol/Meltagun) are actually 10pts cheaper than 10 Stormtroopers (1 Tempestor with Hot-Shot Laspistol/CCW, 7 Scions with Hotshot Lasgun, 2 Scions with Meltagun). However the Acolytes only have BS3 and don't get Frag/Krak grenades. Obviously the Stormtroopers have the Move Through Cover and Deep Strike rules too. Codex: Inquisition actually says that Imperial Guard Stormtroopers make 'ideal' Acolyte models, though they have the old metal Stormtrooper models pictured.
