This fella has been unpainted for a long time now. I posted him in the other section nearly a year ago, but I've finally finished him. He's not my finest work, but others have praised me for him, so here goes. There are a few areas of the model that quite clearly show that this was one of the first models I built, so be forgiving.

Not bad man. Very clean. From me, id suggest taking your highlights to a higher contrast. I can see a start on the wings, and theyve got beautiful areas of stretched out skin just begging for some more highlight layers. Same with the face, the armour and the sword. Layer up to some fiery orange on the red plates, and cold light blues on the sword, and it will pop a hell of a lot more. Other than that maybe some edge highlights on the gauntlet plates and stuff. But a decent effort. I love the base. Whats that made from?

Cheers dude. I actually find myself steering away from high contrast, as I think it can look cartoonish. There's obvious room for improvement though. Next time! I have so many models in need of painting, so while I try to get everything about (my interpretation of) high-tabletop standard, I have to remember all the other models that need painting.

I got the columns on the base from http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com

Nah not cartoonish, just picking out areas so it looks less flat and draws the eye. You dont have to have crazy contrast, just bring the reds and blues up from a dark shaded colour, through base layers, then up to a smaller lighter layer to pick out points of interest.

Also how did you do your brass trims? I want to do that sort of beaten bronze/brass for my konrad curze.

Brass trim is just Warplock Bronze, Seraphim Sepia, and Runelord Brass.
