Hello there,
I am trying to choose what budget (around 300$) dslr camera to buy. I am not much experienced with photography but not even beginner, though I am for sure amateur in dslr's world.
I am gonna to use the camera for miniature photography of course (because life is soooo difficult with compact lenses) and for my job (architecture) which means that I need something for building and landscape photography (whatever that is going to mean for choosing the right lens).
Searching in reviews the best choices in this price are:
Sony Alpha a58 kit
Nikon D3200 kit
Canon EOS 1100D Kit
Will those be effective on what I have to do?
Thanks in advance dakkaz

I've use the canon EOS series and they are reasonably easy to use - but you will also need specific lenses to go with your two options (architecture and models) as they are two extremes.
Nikon has the advantage of a huge pile of lenses that will work (not all the bells and whistles, but ALL will work at least as manual lenses).
No experience with the alpha though.
Best option. GO to a camera store (if you can) say what you are looking for and ask to see about handling a couple.
Then see how easily you can use them (can you get to the usual controls easily without thinking - after practice) that sort of thing. You don't buy a car without a test drive. Don't buy a camera without at least trying it out.

I have a Nikon D3100 and I love it. It's easy to use and takes wonderful photos.
I take great pictures of my models using the kit lens but a 50mm lens works even better, I just haven't felt the urge to buy one just yet.

I don't think the brand makes much difference, especially if you aren't an experienced professional that can get every bit of performance out of your camera. The bigger limiting factor is going to be your own skill. And TBH things like miniature photography are pretty straightforward, so the details matter even less. Pick the one that fits your hand best/has the buttons in the right place/whatever.
Oh, and forget about that $300 budget. Lenses alone are going to cost you that much.

One of the higher end lenses can cost that and more alone.

If you have any photog friends ask them what brand they use.
Then buy said brand. Voila.. You now have access to more lenses.
I mean this seriously.
My mate and mentors brand of camera was a given.
Better for learning and for access to more glass.
Another thought would be to buy second hand.
I have done so myself.
I happened to be very lucky in that I had access to former press gear at reasonable prices. So it might be worth looking into.
For miniature photography the single best thing you can do is to make a light tent. A very simple job and should cost you less than a pint of beer.
Just remember to set the white balance correctly.
Happy shooting.
Just saw that kit lenses were mentioned..
They are good enough if stopped down.
Shoot your kit lens at F-Stop 8 and up and you will honestly struggle to see any marked difference between that and the cheaper 50's.

I have a D3200, which is really way too much for me, with its old blocky DSLR stylings and limited features. I am generally no impressed with Cameras but the new Sony Alphas are pretty damn good. Solid build quality, rich display. I don't know if they use Sony's proprietary cards off the top of my head, but if they do, that would be a deal-breaker on an otherwise fantastic package.

FWIW - Gave daughter the Nikon 3200 kit and she loves it! We selected it based on various reviews on photography user websites, feedback from daughter's photography teacher, cost, and available lenses and accessories.

The thing with Nikon's is that they don't their lens connectors. Canon do. Don't know about the others. This means if you want to upgrade from a Canon you may need to buy replacements.
