My local GW's Ladder League for 40K is upping to 1500 points this Thursday, whilst outside of competition I run alot friendlier lists I like my position at the top and intend to hold onto it. For this reason I have upped my previous 1000 point Farsight Enclave list to 1500 and would love feedback.

The reason I chose the Tau as my 40K army was because of their uber cool Battlesuits, so I love this list! Fusion Blasters are really good against IG as my opponent would groan, andPlasma Rifles will probably punch through Space Marine armour. Hope this helps

Cheers, at 1000 points I only had one out of the two plasma crisis teams and they succesfully ate through marines left right and centre. The flamers on the plasma teams has always served great purpose in making people second guess their charges, and against horde lists keeps the anti infantry punch in those teams.
The commander sits in the 2 man burst cannon team to harass light vehicles and infantry.

This guy neglected to say this list doesn't have a terrible lot of anti infantry and ion accelerators are pretty crap unless your against grey knights or IG. Take some weapons off of the suits and add some upgrades, its advisory for some stim injects and target lock upgrades to be included. Other than that, a good list. Bonding knife is compulsary for the Farsight Enclave. Target locks seem largely wasted as each unit only has sufficient weaponry to wipe a unit a turn, splitting the fire just leaves me dealing with two part units.
Stim injectors i had considered but for the weapons that majorly threaten my suits (krak missiles) the stim wont come into effect.
Which upgrades would increase my anti infantry whilst removing weapons? It seems counter inuitive to gain firepowerr by replacing weaponry with utility.
To Elaborate at the 1000 point level my single riptide held the line with the missile crisis team turn one in order to drop in the commander (who had a full drone squadron around him) and the 2 other teams around the enemy. Each squad could effectively focus fire down a single enemy squad a turn to the stage where few of my opponents ended turn 2 with anything faintly resembling a proper fighting force. It seemed to me that no one of my teams has sufficient firepower that using target locks to further divide the killing power would be an efficient use of points.
Commander + Team 1 has 8 twinlinked bs3, 4 twinlinked bs5, 4 non-twinned bs 5 shots at str 5 along with 4 bs3 str 7
Team 2 either drops 12 plasma shots in rapid fire range or 8 and 2 templates
Team 3 etiehr drops 12 plasma shots in rapid fire or 6 and 3 templates
Team 4 is popping off 3 twinlinked melta shots and can split fire
Team 4 does 12 str 7 shots.
Followed by the 3 Riptides in their various niches (anti infantry/light tank, anti meq/medium tank, Anti teq/anything with an armour value)

They are letting you play a model that is still using Experimental rules? I have the Y' Vahra also and i think he's a badass but most people won't let me play him due to his rules not being legal yet. Otherwise I'm jelly that i don't have that many suits!

Revised list losing one crisis suit, gaining target locks on commander and crisis team of one. Drone controller on commander and 2 marker drones for commander and the team of one. Commander deploys with the team for 4 marker drones at his BS of 5, firing seperately from the team since both members will have target locks

My GW store is fine with all models currently permissable under Warriors Code, in which FW Experimental are fortunately covered!

My advice would be to cut the 111 point two-man burst cannon team. This gives you 114 points to use. Give your commander a drone controller with 2 gun drones. This brings leftover points to 82. Take a drone squadron of 4 drones and attach your commander to them, so now that's 12 twin-linked BS5 str5 shots (not including your commander's weapons) - better than your crisis team (although you lose the missiles). You now have 26 points left to spend on your suits. I'd suggest spending it on your fusion suits by giving two of them dual fusion blasters instead of twin-linked ones, then using the last 6 points to give a target lock to either your commander or another suit.
Another suggestion for the last 6 points is giving a flamer to the fusion suit without a target lock to deal with getting charged.
A further suggestion (which I would personally go for) is de-twin-link your commander's burst cannon, then use the 5 points from that and the 6 left over already to give your last fusion suit dual fusions instead of twin-linked, so that the fusion team now has the potential for 6 hits instead of only 3. This will save your ass more times than you might realise. By the way, my reasoning for de-twin-linking your commander's burst cannon is that with my suggestions, his unit will be putting out 20 BS5 str5 shots, 12 of which are already twin-linked which is more than enough to glance a tank to death/destroy a horde/give normal infantry some problems. Automatically Appended Next Post: My apologies, I didn't see your revised list Automatically Appended Next Post: I think you don't have enough marker support though. I would really suggest two tetras (better than pathfinders as they are more mobile and slightly harder to kill). They would complement your suit army nicely and it's only 70 points for 2 tetras (run them as separate units)

On the crisis suits with flamers, you could get rid of the flamers and replace with a burst cannon for light infantry, but the flamers do have benefits when people charge. Tests it and if it fails put the flmaers back on, the earlisest I can test my crisis loudouts is this friday

Played my first two league games last night, the first being against a CSM player who made his list on the fly so it was incredibly heavy on upgrades and low on mdoels, managed to table to list at the end of turn 3 with minimum casualties (a single crisis suit). The FW riptide did wonders with its AP2 flamer at removing most of the marine based threats in the first few turns with everything else really just focus firing down their own targets to render the army ineffective. Second game was vs a heavily mechanised guard (Pask, 2 autocannon russ, 2 standard russ, 2 hellhounds, 2 chimera, 2 x 10 man vets) and was alot harder a game, Pask dropped my fancy riptide turn one by rending him to death (rending and preffered enemy, nasty) and most of my marker drones bought it from a hellhound early on, however when my crisis suits arrived in heroic fashion then began whittling down the force, those without the anti tank weaponry resorting to punching the rear armour of the tanks whilst riptides and fusion blasters ate through the rest. Tabled the opponent end of T4.
Both games the list performed well but I believe I need either more, or less markerlights. With just the one unit they get focus fired far too often to perform, and given the range they were at neither the commander or his crisis teammate really used their weapons to full effect. With this in mind I am considering revising the list to:

Effectively doubling my number of markerlights at the expense of a single crisis suit, and losing the early warning overrides which thus far have been ineffective since I appear to be the one one deepstriking. It also gives my commander 4 BS5 STR7 shots a turn

The second list also gives some much needed homing beacons in the form of the tetras, looking at potentially dropping a few upgrades on the suits to fit the tetras with disruption pods just to ensure they are on the table T2 in order to use their homing beacons.

Simple way of doing that would be dropping all but one of the flamers and downgrading say a suit with 2 missile pods to 1 twin-linked missile pod.
However, I'd recommend maybe only giving one tetra disruption pod so that you only have to get rid of 3 flamers.
(What I'd do myself is play around with points until you have the fusion squad all with 2 each instead of twin-linked, but that's up to you - just imagine that with markerlight support you're more than likely to get two hits each and not just one, this could double your chance of winning)

I had been considering trying to free up the points to switch out the HBC Riptide (who has been less than spectacular) for a R'varna, however doing so would almost certainly require the loss of a tetra (plus the flamers off one of the plasma teams). Reasoning being that the HBC has rended so rarely that it is essentially only doing what the plasma suits do, but costing so much more and being worse AP.

The list has gone 4 wins in 4 games, for a bit of variation I have picked up the R'vahra from forgeworld to replace my HBC riptide in my next ist, and a Barracuda is replacing one of the crisis teams. If only because the barracuda can do a 2+ jink which doesnt impede its burst cannons.
