Crazed Cultist of Khorne

So I have an upcoming tournament, and was looking to participate with my own legion. One note first though: the heavy support options are permanent! I love my tanks

HQ:
Chaos Lord (175) with Juggernaut, Axe of Blind Fury, Mark of Khorne, Sigil of Corruption, VotLW
Be'Lakor (350)

Elites:
Terminators (130) with Combi-Melta (x3), Mark of Tzeentch, Melta Bomb

Troops:
5 Chaos Space Marines (147) with Plasma Gun, Combi Plasma and Rhino with Havoc Launcher
5 Chaos Space Marines (147) with Plasma Gun, Combi Plasma and Rhino with Havoc Launcher
10 Cultists (50)

Fast Attack:
4 Spawn (120)
Heldrake (170)
Raptors (120) with 2 Meltas, Melta Bomb

Heavy Support:
Vindicator (150) with Possession, Combi-bolter, Siege Shield
Vindicator (150) with Possession, Combi-bolter, Siege Shield
Predator Tank (140) with Trilas

Basic Premise: Lord with spawn rushes up one flank with support from Be'Lakor's invisibility. Be'lakor and the helldrake will take care of any surprise ground threats, as well as aerial attacks from other flyers. The Vindicators will move up to midfield with their flanks guarded by the marines in bawkses. The marines will be the first line of scoring, but the cultists will move up the board in order to take the place of either fallen squad. The Raptors and the Terminators will both be looking to destroy any knights/landraiders/LoW that may be on the board. Finally, my predator will be sniping opposing bawkses from my backfield.

Raptors are meh.

I would drop them and take another spawn to support the lord. Better when you use invis from belakor to really make it worth the investment.

I would use the remaining points and add bodies to the csm squads.

I am not a huge fan of the term melta unit. Its not reliable to come in turn 2 and with no reserve manipulation its hard to make sure its where you need it.

I understand you prefer your heavies as is but you have very little to deal with enemy super heavies and knights.

Also you mentioned cultists in your description but not in your list. Unless I am blind lol

Thanks for the reply!

Concerning taking down Knights/Super Heavies, I've reliably done so with a combination of the termicide, raptors, st 10 vindicator shots, the three Lascannon shots, and Be'Lakor's armourbane weapon! In fact, my raptors have slain Knights, Gorkanauts and a baneblade! There certainly is a bit of finesse required with raptors though. I've had them killed off first/second turn many times because my opponent fears the Melta shots, but if you keep them covered, then they can still make it. Plus, if they're shooting at the raptors, then they're not shooting at my other assets.

P.S. Thanks for catching the cultists!

How does Be'lakor and the drake reliably take down other fliers? All they really have is an unreliable vector strike...

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

In my local meta, very few individuals bring more than a single flier, so 95% of the time I don't have to bring more than the two. And the d3 strikes from the Heldrake plus Be'Lakor are typically more than enough to at least take down a weapon or some other high result

D3 s6 and 7 AP2 auto hits is not unreliable. I like your list, and I have never heard of more successful raptors!

Out of curiosity, why the juggernaut and not a bike for the lord?

For only a few points more, you get the Calvary rule, an extra wound and it looks absolutely bad***! I've lost more models to difficult terrain on bikes than I wish to share...

Jugger is totally worth it.

Tho cavalry totally still have to take dangerous terrain tests, sorry dude.

Be'lakor can easily handle Knights and other LoW vehicles. Ive tried to run a Raptor melta squad myself (with 2 meltas, 1 combi melta and melta bombs). The problem is that these guys will get ONE turn of shooting before they get ripped to shreds. Considering melta range and their DS scatter, they are likely to end up as mere distractions for your enemy instead of any viable threat. Same goes for the Terminators.

Instead, I would recommend either dropping both units and investing more in your scorers (those that will win you the game). Or; dropping the Trilas Pred and one of those units to get a unit of Obliterators and an ADL with comms relay for more reliable reserves. You can then either DS the Oblits and use their MMs and Twin-linked meltas. Or just place them at 36" and blast away with LCs or PCs.
