The rule is as follows; a dataslate may not contain more relevant information than what can be read in 20 seconds

This thread is mostly my way of saying that dataslates are fun, but too expensive if you want many.

The content is seriously just 10 lines of text in some cases. The rest is just not related to rules at all.

I love warhammer 40k and i bought the dataslates related to csm exept for cypher. I dont understand why his dataslate costs 4 times as much.

Also related, i wrote a review for each of rhose dataslates on ibooks and they dont show up.
I believe many people have actually wrote reviews on them but somehow they dont even have a rating.

The Cypher one I believe is more because it has a fair amount of fluff for Cypher.

Is it a fair amount?

Does anyone else see the ratings on the dataslates?
Or my reviews?

This is actually a good rule. If it takes more than 30 seconds to read and understand a unit's rules then the rules are too complicated for a game like 40k and need to be simplified.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

When I said fair amount I meant 'quite a bit', not necessarily fair for the price.

I agree that a rule or an entry should be a quick read, but a whole dataslate?

And what about having to switch between rulebook, codex, and dataslates to check rules?
What do you guys think about that?

I think it is slow with the ipad, im not even using the physical copies..

If only there was a way of getting all the dataslates and codex information into the rulebook, that would be a technological wonder....

I understand, although youre a geek, so theres that.

perhaps they would charge a microtransaction per word, and we could choose how many words we would be willing to pay for fluff...

I personally love fluff, but to me it seems a bit weird to pay for fluff when buying a rules expansion.
I would rather read fluff in a novel, or separate the fluff from the rules and sell separately.

It might have been less of a train-wreck if you had led with that, then.
