In Codex: Inquisition, can a lone Inquisitor take a dedicated transport?

No.

Inquisition does have a fast attack slot as of the IA: vol 2 faq, so you can get a valkyrie for him without getting any henchmen.

The inquisitor could even deploy within the LR or whatever you had in mind, he would just have to share it with the acolyte unit at first.

If the inquisitor could take a dedicated transport it would let you fit another one into the very limited FOC that the Inquisition have.

Also swapping units out of dedicated transports is annoying.

Well, you can get a whole new FOC for a measly 25points "inquisitor tax", if slots is all you want

The point tax isn't a little annoyance when you're trying to economise on points and be strictly under a limit, rather than even just a couple points over. More importantly, I want to use the Inquisitor as an ally, and deploy a unit from the core CAD into a Valkyrie.

Core CAD being DKoK Siege regiment, so FW is fine and the IA Vol 2 errata has solved the problem.
