I had some issues getting a cheap purchase of a Tyranid Termagant Brood from an ebay seller. When the package finally arrived today I was dismayed to find he sent Tyranid Homagaunt Brood instead. I really do not want to deal with this seller anymore if possible...

My plan is to make exactly 12 Devourer Termagants. Since I have all the bits I need to convert the Homogrants to Devourer Termagant Destroyers left over from all the Flesborers I have been making I was just going to do that. It looks like all I need to do is stick the gun and arm on a regular Homagaunt build. Looking at the pieces I think it actually might look cool. Has anyone tried or seen this conversion? Does it look good? Am I going to run into douchebag players who will insist I have an illegal piece? Finally, what would you do?

Paradigm for a happy relationship with Games Workshop: Burn the books and take the models to a different game.

Hormagaunt bodies are identical to Termagant bodies. You should be fine.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Yeah you should be fine. The only time you might need to worry would be if you were just straight-up proxying the models, but if you go to the effort to convert them then basically everyone should be fine with it.

On another note, Hormagaunts tend to be really front-heavy so you'll need to figure out how to keep the models from tipping over with those big Devourers on there.

I've done it and with how large the Devourer is compared to the Gaunt body I think it comes out looking really good.

I have done it. It looks awesome and great.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I do it, works great. Just remember to weight the bases, they topple over all the time without it. I found that half a penny in the slotted base is perfect

I did just this conversion, for the specific reason of having them be easy to recognize on the table. You're just using different arms, so it is about as easy a conversion as you can hope for. As for a**hats you'll meet those no matter what, but it is 100% GW parts so WTF! Why are they asking? ....

I use tiny fishing weights, but I lived out in the country, where they're for sale in the convenience store.
